Part 46 A.R.C Origin

No One P.O.V

Romeo woke up in a bamboo forest gasping and looking around.

"Where am I?" He asked holding his head and standing up. The last thing he remembered was passing out in Wendy's arms.

He fought Zeref and Gray as a dragon slayer and a demon at the same time.

A gaint green hand punched the back of Romeo's head.

"OW! WHAT THE HELL!?" Romeo yelled hearing thunderous laughter.

"Hahaha I can't believe you can feel pain in your own underworld!"

"Zirconis!" Romeo said shocked.

"How, what- why?" He had so many questions.

"Easy there brat, you're currently somewhere in between the realm of life and death, I'm merely just a small peace of the real Zirconis that rests deep inside of you" Zirconis explained.

"Okay but why am I in my underworld?" Romeo asked.

"Cause its time you learned the truth about your existence, and how you came to be" 

"My existence" Romeo questioned.

"Remember how Natsu told you that Zeref was your brother? well theres more to it then that" Zirconis shifted the area and took Romeo to the past where he viewed the previous life of Natsu and Zeref but as a spectator.

"That was Natsu and Zeref from way back then?" Romeo said.

"Indeed things seemed alot simpler here, they were a loving family, however, dragons killed Zerefs parents and even Natsu at one point" 

"Then how is it possible that I'm his brother?" Romeo questioned.

"Before Natsu mother died, she was pregnant with another child who also passed away during the dragons assualt. When Zeref started doing experiments on magic that could bring back the dead, he found a way to capture the soul of his deceased brother and used it as a prototype for E.N.D later naming it A.R.C, how the soul was just that, a soul. It needed a vessel. a body of sorts. Seeing no use for the past that he was in, he decided he was going to send the soul 400 years into the future, so that any random women could bear his little brother. It was mere coincidence that the soul merged with the baby already inside of Enno" Zirconis explained.

"So... thats why I look so similar to Zeref... I guess that also explains why Natsu has always been like a big brother to me" Romeo said connecting the dots "but wait that still doesn't explain how I became a dragon slayer" 

"Ah yes about that, Zeref had always envisioned that Natsu becoming a dragon slayer was the best thing for him because of they're incredible power, since you were the prototype, Zeref had also mixed in my soul with his brothers. It was very easy since Agnologia had already ripped away our souls. To put in lame mans terms my magic was slowly building up inside of you its what manifested those green flames and how I was able to prevent you from turning into a dragon" 

"I see... and my mom knew about all of this?" Romeo asked

"After discovering who had the soul he had sent he explained everything to Enno who retaliated by stating her child will not be some weapon to defeat Zeref. Zeref let her be, because at the time he had higher hopes for Natsu then he did for you Romeo. Even if his little brother was inside of Enno he was merely a proto type an experiment. He never expected you to reach Natsus level of power. But kid you've surprised us again and again. You've far surpassed Zerefs expectations. Also this goes without saying but the soul of his little brother could only be brought back as a demon. Hence another demon from the book of Zeref, the whole A.R.C thing yknow"

"So when Ultear unlocked my second origin she had also awakened the soul of Zerefs little brother inside me? No wonder that energy felt so... demonic" Romeo said now understanding why he went on rampages before.

"The soul and you are one and the same now Romeo, the fact is you ARE Zerefs little brother and Natsus too" 

"Wish I could be happy about that" Romeo chuckled

"You making peace with your inner demon also wasn't part of Zerefs plan. I'm sure he expected you to succumb to darkness and to become a demon only capable of destroying"

Romeo remembered his dark 7 years without his friends.

"There was a time to where that might have been possible,but thankfully I had my friends... and it's because I had them that I was able to make friends with my evil half"

"Yes normally it would've been that conflict alone that would cause you to be here. Your dragon and demon seed merging could've caused you to die" Zirconis said.

"What?" Romeo said shocked.

"That's what's currently happening with Natsu but I wouldn't worry too much about him" Zirconis said.

"If I can beat he most certainly can" Romeo said having confidence in Natsu.

"Exactly"

"Then why am I still dying?"

"One of the demons of the book of Zeref is trying to take control of your body from the grave. They're trying to kill your soul and come back using your body"

"What?!"

"Don't worry there's still time to stop him just make it to your soul before he does"

"Alright I'm all fired up now!" 

"ARE YOU!?"

Suddenly Igneel landed right beside Zirconis

"IGNEEL!? What are you doing here? Wait how are you here?!" Romeo said a bit freaked out. 

"You jumping through time has allowed me to visit you from the past, as we speak I just been killed by Agnologia but don't worry I'm giving you the same gift to that I gave to Natsu,its a one time use, a peace of my fiery soul. I expect you'll need it when you run into Agnologia again, and GET SOME PAY BACK FOR ME TOO WHILE YOU'RE AT IT!"

Romeo smiled.

"I will thanks Igneel and Zirconis I'll never forget you two" Romeo said said holding his chest knowing they'll always be alive in his heart. He then departed to go find whoever was trying to get to his soul.
