Temptation,
it is tempting
to fall from grace
but is it tempting
to be a disgrace?

When the devil's closer than you think,
when your face is heating up and going pink.
When your heart is beating a million times per second.
When you think you can be bad even if it's just for a second.

That's when you sin.
That's when your demon from within
comes out to play.
But it won't play nice.
It's black and grey
it'll come back twice
or thrice
a day.

It'll cloak you in darkness,
a big black canvas.
It'll make you have tunnel vision,
you'll do things without permission.

And when bystanders will pass you by
you'll wave, saying 'Hi
there's nothing to see here'
But that much will be clear.
Nothing to fear
no there's so much to fear
you don't understand, my dear
how near the devil is, how near.

When they find you at the scene of the crime
you'll jump and so will your heart.
Your voice will vanish, so you will have to mime
out an explanation that will be confusing from the start.

Know that compassion is God-sent
they will allow you to repent.
And repent you must,
in you God trusts.
So don't slip up again.
If you do then
get back up again
and continue.
Feel the rue.
But don't feel blue.

We all deserve a second chance,
we are all worthy of redemption.
So snap out of that trance
because you won't be an exception.

You can make your light brighter and mightier than your dark.
You can call your angels to protect you from the demon's mark.

You can light a light
in the tunnel you walk through.
You can fight the fight
and make it through
to the end, in one piece.
Die a good person, die in peace.

In them, you can confide
confess the truth by saying "I tried
to hide
the truth. There was something to see there.
I don't mean to frighten you, to scare.

But it's not as bad as you think it is.
It isn't as sour, the drink with fizz.
We all mess up sometimes.
It's the willingness to go on
and the determination to change
that lets us move on
let lets us change."

And with that a chapter will close
because you would have said it all.
With that this poem comes to a close
because I think I've pretty much said it all.
