As I watched Aditya leave after dinner, knowing he had early morning weekend practice with his team, I couldn't help but feel a rush of excitement. It was the perfect time to shock my parents, who were currently engrossed in watching a movie and spending quality time together.

"Dad, I remember you talking about Mr. Kashyap and his daughter, Samaira," I began, causing my dad to pause the movie and earning a tsk from my mom.

"Yeah, what about them?" Dad asked, while Mom listened to our conversation carefully.
"Yeah, so I decided to send a proposal to her house. I’m want to get married to her. I just want you guys to act like this was your plan." I stated, turning back as if about to leave.

My dad almost choked on his tea but my mom surprisingly remained composed.
"Look, beta, I don’t have any problem, but why her and all of a sudden?" Mom questioned, while my dad was still recovering from my announcement.
"Mom, you know I won’t decide anything hastily. I have thought this through and I’ll let you know about all of it tomorrow and besides, weren’t you always nagging me to settle down? I thought you would be more happy." I replied, starting to head back to my room.

I couldn't wait to see her reaction tomorrow—the way her eyebrows would raise up, her jaw dropping to the ground, her cute nose flaring up in an attempt to showcase her anger, and her eyes full of rage. Ah, she's taking over my mind and driving me crazy.

The day finally arrived, and my parents seemed to be happy. They had been nagging me about getting married, but I was always too busy and engrossed with work to entertain the idea. My real excuse for avoiding marriage was that I wanted to find the one and be involved in my love story. If I had to get married to someone my parents set me up with, I would feel like a robot. Now that I was ready to get married, and it was my dad’s friend’s daughter, my parents seemed to be celebrating on the inside.

Driving to her house, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I wasn’t scared she would reject me or something—I knew I had been someone she would never want to face in her life ever. Yet, I had a plan.

Lunch prepared by her was fantastic, and after I executed my plan, I was all set to head home and inform Aditya about it all. I was sure he’d be curious about what made Samaira say yes.

Just as I was about to leave, I got a call from Aditya. He would definitely live another 100 years, given his curiosity.

I woke up to my phone ringing and buzzing with a flurry of messages, followed by a call.
‘God, did someone die or something? Can’t even let a girl get her beauty sleep properly.’ I thought while yawning in a not-so-attractive way. Picking it up lazily, I assumed it was Samaira because let’s be honest no one else would dare to disturb in my holy hour, not even my parents and that’s saying something.

“Samaira this better be something urgent or I swear to god I’m gonna strangle you. I was about to get married to Dylan O’brien and YOU ruined it.”

I muttered in sheer irritation, not even bothering to check the caller ID.
“Wow, that hurt sweetheart. I feel so betrayed. And here I was, thinking you were falling in love with me.” I took a quick check to see the caller ID and it was Aditya. I could literally hear the teasing smirk on his face while he was saying this.

“Well of course I would marry him. I mean have you seen the guy? He’s smart, talented, has amazing sense of humour and looks like the he was created by the greek gods.” I spoke right back with a smug smile of my own, making him scoff.

“Oh please, I am way better looking than that guy and probably even more talented.” I could tell he was slightly annoyed but I didn’t care, he ruined my sleep so tit for tat.
