Naina POV
After waking Sam up in the most entertaining way possible, I went back to my room. This was a regular occurrence now, me staying at her place every now and then, whenever I was bored or felt alone. I had my own mini wardrobe here too, so I didn’t have to bring clothes along with me every time I slept over.
I took a hot relaxing shower and wore a black round-neck top and paired it with white trousers and a black blazer on top.
After applying some makeup, which consisted of some foundation and a lipgloss, I waited for Samaria to get ready as well. While I was waiting, I decided to scroll through my instagram just to pass time.I was just scrolling through my feed when something caught my eye. It was Aditya.. with another woman. He was smiling at her while she was holding his arm with her head tilted back, as though laughing at something he might’ve said. My heart sank to my stomach. I almost had tears burning at the side of my eyes but no, I wouldn’t cry, not for a man, again. Maybe I was being over dramatic but it’s not like I can help it. I feel what I feel.
As if the picture wasn’t enough, the caption of the article said- “Aditya Chauhan spotted with our beloved model and actress, Mira Bhatia. Our sources claim that he is dating her and is soon going to announce his relationship to the public. Visit our website for more details.” Yeah, I don’t think I need more details.
I locked my phoneand placed both of my hands on my face, closing my eyes for a second. I took a deep and staggered breath to calm myself. I didn’t know what to think of all this. Aditya seemed genuine but I don’t think I can continue to go out with someone who is rumoured with a different woman everyday. I know it is because of my trust issues but those issues are a part of me and I have to put myself first. My mental health matters to me a lot more than some one-week dating.
I was so lost in my thoughts that I didn’t even notice Samaira standing in front of me. “Hello? Earth to Naina?”, she snapped her fingers in front of my face.
I gave her a stiff smile and got up. “Yeah, sorry. Got a bit lost in my thoughts. Let’s go.” I got my car keys and prepared to leave but she stopped me. Ugh, just what I was afraid of.
“Wait a minute, why do you look like that? What’s wrong? Who do I need to murder?” She bombarded me with her interrogations. That actually managed to get a slight chuckle out of me, but I just shook my head, “It’s nothing, okay? I’m fine. I will be at least.”
“We are not leaving unless you tell me what has made you so gloomy all of a sudden.” She took her stance and crossed her arms, determination gleaming in her eyes. I sighed, I was really hoping to avoid this conversation, damn it. How could she always tell?
“Fine. I opened instagram today and guess who I saw- Aditya and his beautiful and flawless girlfriend. Amazing news, isn’t it?”
I spoke, unable to keep the bitterness out my voice, no matter how hard I tried. Samaira looked confused at this. “Aditya’s girlfriend? What the hell are you talking about? Did you start day drinking or something?”I didn’t say anything, instead I just showed her my phone. I watched the expressions on her face go from- shocked, confused and complete anger. “Haramzaada! Maar dalungi mai isko ek baar haath mai aajaye (That bastard! I’ll kill him if I ever saw him again)”
I took my phone from her. “Don’t bother, Sam. It was my fault, honestly, I should’ve seen this coming,” I paused for a second and sighed, “Actually I did see this coming, but still went on with it because I was actually starting to have feelings for him, so stupid I know. I guess I just didn’t think that it would hurt so bad at that moment.” I could feel my throat closing up, tears burning in the corner of my eyes.
