The meeting went like a nightmare.

A nightmare is too positive, I'd rather say it went like a disaster that happens in a nightmare. We discussed the case, and as it turns out, he's quite a good detective. I used to think men didn't notice any details, but Zion wa able to track down Jane's latest location without any effort. We might be able to work on this case together without me doing all the work on my own, which was a good comfort. Spending time with Zion about the case actually made me realize that it's better to not work alone, so I won't have to keep everything to myself. As it turns out, he's a great listener, someone you can easily vent to about anything. I told him about the finger fucking with Tyson, which caused him to choke on his coffee for three minutes straight. It was hilarious, but I also felt quite bad for him after some minutes, until I realized I felt bad for Zion of all people. That was when I wanted to hit myself with my notepad if I had the chance.

As I told him about the latest gossip I've heard in town, the one where a girl was stuck in between the metal pillars of the fences nearby the park for almost four hours after she had sex with Gabriel Houston, when I heard Jonathan's timer ring. I jumped up from the couch, dropping my notepad on the coffee table, almost knocking over my empty coffee cup when I took Zion's arm. "We should get you out of here." I abruptly said, making him look up to me with slight confusion in his face. "Avery, what?" He stood up, now following my lead without anymore protest. I couldn't help but feel a slight pang of guilt in my chest as I did so, but I couldn't let the guilt take the hold of me when there was a chance Jonathan would beat Zion up.

The fight would probably be more crucial to Jonathan, since the man has no muscles compared to Zion. He told me he's a gym rat, someone who hangs out in the gym with his friends the entire day just to hang on monkey bars, pushing theirselves up as if their lives depend on it. Zion might be a little too large for our house, since he almost knocked my mother's vase over, the one she got from our grandma. "Watch out, damn it!" I hissed before catching the vase right in time until it touched the ground. He smirked before he opened the front door, now turning around as he faced me. "It was a pleasure hanging out with you, diamond." He gave her the same playful smirk before he was about to close the door. I stuck my foot in between the gap, before looking up to meet his confused eyes. "Diamond?" I repeated, a frown appearing in my brows as I thought about the nickname he just gave me. Why would he suddenly give me a nickname as if we'd known eachother for years. We know eachother since he'd been taking me apart in the club and threatening me with exposing my almost kill yesterday. Why would he suddenly feel the urge to give me a nickname? "It's referring to Sherlock Holmes, the Blue Diamond he used to find?" He had a questioning look on his face as he took in my expression, which was totally clueless. "What?" I shook my head as I tried to take in the hint he'd given me.

He cut me off. "Don't think about it." He took a step back, now waiting for me to take my foot away. I shook my head, still processing the nickname he'd given me. "We'll see eachother soon, I guess.." I pulled my foot away from the gap as I closed the door, letting out a sigh of relief for this chaotic morning. The day had already drained me, and it hadn't even started yet for most of the people. It didn't take more than a minute before Jonathan's heavy steps were drumming in my ears when he walked down the stairs. I was already sitting on the couch, doodling in my notepad while thinking about the meeting I had with Zion this morning when the door towards the living room opened, revealing my brother wearing a pair of sweatpants with his hair completely messed up. Whatever he'd been doing, he had a wild night. "Morning." He shuffled towards the couch, before dropping himself on it with a groan. I rolled my eyes in response, ignoring his presence while pulling my legs up to my torso. "Morning." I muttered, not paying attention to his presence. Looking at him would make me guilty for keeping the meet up I had with Zion a secret for him. We always used to tell eachother everything, but I've been keeping more secrets for him in the past months than I did in my entire life. He looked up, a confused look on his face. "Who was the mystery man you've been hanging out with at seven o'clock?" He abruptly asked, causing me off guard. I didn't know what to say as I clinged onto the pen I held in my hands, my muscles clenging around it. "There was nobody here." The heat crept up to my cheeks as I lied, again.
