Emily's POV

A few weeks later

"So, my dear crime-fighting friends, we have a new case and I have a feeling it's going to get bad,"
announces Penelope, who is standing in front of the round table and letting her gaze wander over our faces.
In her hand she holds her remote control, which she keeps turning back and forth, as she always does when a case really affects her.
"But before I introduce you to the new case, you should know that we will have support for this case.
The best we could wish for, to be honest." she says with a wink and pauses for effect before continuing.
"Since we will be dealing with teenagers in this case, the FBI is providing us with the new child and youth therapist."
With a broad grin, she points to the open door through which Y/N now hesitantly comes in.

"Hey guys," she says a little shyly, awkwardly raising her hand in greeting while she holds her crutch tightly in the other hand, grateful for the support.

JJ and Tara cheer happily and Penelope and I join in with clapping.
Rossi nods in agreement at Y/N and Luke underlines the welcoming cheer with a whistle.
Y/N looks around embarrassedly, a small smile curling up the corners of her mouth.

"I hope I can really help you," she says modestly, looking at each of us.

A warm feeling spreads through me as her eyes meet mine and a broad smile lights up her face.

Even though I already knew unofficially that she would be working with us today, it makes my heart beat faster to actually see her standing in our meeting room.
She is wearing a simple but elegant pantsuit that accentuates her figure and the crutch that I painted for her.

I am so proud of her.

She was very nervous this morning but insisted on driving herself to work, it was important to her.
She has officially been working for the FBI for two weeks now, but today is the first big case she has been assigned.

It is an exciting day and I am looking forward to seeing her in action.
I know she will do a great job.
And of course it is nice to be able to fly with her.
That way I don't have to leave her home alone.

Penelope walks over to her and hugs her lovingly before wraping her arm around her and leading her to the round table.
I pull out the chair next to me and pat it invitingly.
She sinks into the chair with a smile and her hand immediately finds mine under the table.
I gently stroke the back of her hand as we all turn back to Penelope.

"It's about a high school in Connecticut.
In the last 2 weeks 3 teenagers have died. All by suicide with poison.
It all came as a surprise."
She presses the remote control and the photos of three students appear on the screen and on our tablets.
I push my tablet a little towards Y/N so she can look at the Pictures.

"If it's suicide, what should we investigate?" Luke asks, leaning forward while tapping on his tablet.
"The fact that all three students have shown no signs of suicidal tendencies and there have been three cases in a very short period of time at the same school makes us suspect that there may be someone who is making the Kids do it."
Y/N says in a firm, professional voice, her gaze fixed on the pictures of the teenagers on the tablet.
But I notice that she is nervously bouncing her leg up and down under the table.

"A mutual friend? Or maybe one of those internet challenges that went wrong?" Asks Rossi.

"Not a friend, the three of them had no friends in common, they came from very different social groups."
