As I lay on the bed, the medication began to take effect, and I felt my eyelids growing heavy. I surrendered to the exhaustion and let myself drift off to sleep, my body relaxing into the softness of the bed. Five minutes passed, and I slowly opened my eyes again, feeling a slight reprieve from the pain.

Rehan was still sitting beside me, his eyes fixed on his phone screen as he engaged in a conversation. His expression was tense, his brow furrowed in concern, and his voice was firm but controlled. "How many times have I told you to pick my call!" he exclaimed, his tone laced with frustration. I felt a surge of surprise at his outburst, but I remained silent, observing him.

As soon as he realized I was awake, his demeanor changed instantly. His expression softened, and his voice became gentle and soothing. "I was saying, please pick up the call, and yes, do all those things I've said first, and don't call me back. I'll come tomorrow." He ended the call and turned his attention to me, his eyes filled with concern and care.

"Uth gayi? Tabyat kaise hai?" he asked softly, his voice filled with empathy. I hummed a response, still feeling tired and weak, but grateful for his care. Rehan's sudden change in behavior was jarring, but his gentle tone and soothing words comforted me, and I felt a sense of relief wash over me.

[you woke up? How are you feeling now]

He placed the phone on the bedside table and turned his full attention to me, but then a sudden craving struck me like a bolt of lightning. "Rehan, mujhe golgappy khane hai!" [Rehan, I want to eat golgappy!] I exclaimed, my voice laced with a childish pout and an innocent expression.

Rehan's response was laced with amusement and exasperation. "Kya? Yeh time hai? Ruhi, abhi itni tabyat kharab thi!" [What? Is this the time? Ruhi, your health was so poor just a while ago!]

I dramatically sat up on the bed, burying my face in my knees, my arms wrapped around them. "Han, main jaanti hoon, aap kabhi meri baat nahi maanenge!" [Yes, I know you'll never listen to me!] I said, my voice muffled by my knees.

Rehan fell silent for a moment, his expression a mix of frustration and amusement. Then, he gently took my face in his hands, his palms enveloping my cheeks. "Mera bacha, main nahin kehta ki nahi, lekin dekho, abhi itni tabyat kharab thi. Abhi golgappy khane hai, aur raat ko is time milenge kahan se?" [My love, I'm not saying no, but consider your health. You were in so much pain just a while ago, and now you want to eat golgappy? Where will we even find them at this hour?]

I listened to his reasoning, but I refused to budge, turning my face away from him in a stubborn gesture. "Main nahin jaanti, Rehan. Mujhe cravings horahi hai, aur main unhe pura karna chahti hoon. Mujhe nahi pata, main kya karun!" [I don't know, Rehan. I have cravings, and I need to satisfy them. I can't help it!]

Rehan sighed, his expression softening. "Theek hai, theek hai. Chalo." [Alright, alright. Let's go.] He pulled out the car keys from his pocket, and I couldn't contain my excitement. I threw my arms around him in a tight hug, my face beaming with joy. "Thank you, Rehan! Merci, merci!" [Thank you, Rehan! Thanks a lot!]
