CHAPTER FIFTY FIVE

The night of the heist has finally arrived. Noah, Caius, and Alastair waited outside before they begin their plan. With they help of General Anderson, they can sneak inside the palace without anyone to suspect them

"Listen, our role is to protect the queen. So if you spotted any rebels, make sure to catch them, got it?"

"Yes, sir," the three of them said in unison

They began marching towards the palace, along with the other knights who were willing to help them.

As soon as they entered the palace's premises, General Anderson tapped Noah's back and whispered, "Go ahead; if something happens, we'll be here."

Noah bow down, "Thank you for everything, General Anderson,"

The general smiled, "No problem, kid,"

The three of them went to the other side of the palace, where all of the queen's belongings are.

As soon as they arrived there, a rebel has already trying to open the door. The rebel noticed them and attacked them.

Before they could even fight back, a group of other rebels sneaked behind their back. Alastair grabbed the rebel's arm and slammed him directly to the ground.

Caius took out his swords and tried to fight the rebels who are coming at him. However, one of them kicked his hand, causing him to let go of his weapon. He began dodging their attacks until he grabbed one of the rebel's hair and kick him to his face. Before the other rebels could even hurt him, Alastair picked Caius's sword and stabbed the rebels.

"You killed them!?" Caius exclaimed

"That's what are swords for, dimwit," Alastair simply responded, "I believe this is yours," he then tossed the swords towards Caius's direction.

Noah, on the other hand, fought the rebels fearlessly. He didn't hesitate and immediately slice their body until they bleed. After they took down the rebels, they went directly to the door, and as soon as they entered the room. More rebels broke the windows and trespassed the Palace.

On the other side of the palace, Zillah and Chrysalis entered the palace without any problem. The guards noticed Zillah so they didn't question her at all.

"All we have to do is to get to the queen's room, where is it?" Chrysalis whispered

"O- On the left side u- upstairs." Zillah stutters. Chrysalis grabbed both of her shoulders and looked directly to her eyes

"Look, you're being a wimp, right now! If you don't want to help, them fine! I'll get things on my own, and let Evaine's be disappointed to her own sister,"

Zillah pushed me away from her, "It's not like I don't want to help, I am just afraid of facing my father right now. I still can't believe he did all of this!" She added, "All my life, I've been good, but why does everything keeps taking the happiness I deserve away from me!?"

"It's not your fault that your father is a wicked man." Chrysalis wipes Zillah's tears from her cheeks, "We have to tell the queen before he finds us."

Zillah slowly nodded. She grabbed Chrysalis's hands and take her to Queen's chamber, and said, "Go inside, if she's asleep, slowly wake her up. I also have to tell Meriadoc about everything what's happening,"

"Okay, be careful,"

Zillah smiles, "You too..."

Chrysalis entered the Queen's chamber and locked the door. Before she could even go away, she heard her father's voice from the other side of the hallway

"Zillah, where have you been?" Fergus asked

Zillah froze like a statue, she can feel her hands trembling. She couldn't even turn around to see her father's face.

Fergus touched her shoulder, "I've been waiting for you to come home."

She gulped before she responds, "I- I was trying to f- find Evaine..."

"Did you manage to find her?"

"....N- No,"

"I see. That's too bad," Fergus stated, "What are you doing to your mother's room?"

"I... I thought I could t- tell her about m- my day.... f- father..." She stutters

"Are you sick? You're stuttering,"

Zillah stepped away from him and smiles, "I'm fine, father, I am just tired."

"I see. Why don't I take you to bed? I have exciting news for you,"

"What news?"

"The queen and I are getting married tomorrow, and you'll officially become the Mortimer Empire's princess."

Zillah didn't answered, she clench her fist and stated, "But what about Eva?"

"Hmm, I'm not sure." He simply stated, "Now, let's take you to bed,"

"I can go to my room on my own, father." She stated, and walks away

Fergus then stated, "You're acting strange. Are you hiding something from me, Zillah?"

Zillah answered without looking at him, "No." She said before she went straight to her room

She have to do something to get Merry out of here. She waited for a moment before she looked at the hallway. Fergus is gone, and it seems like Chrysalis hasn't done talking with Queen Cherith either.

Zillah slowly got out of her room and went downstairs. She made sure no one can see her. She sneaks inside the servants' chamber.

"It's lady Zillah,"

"What is she doing here?"

"Where's princess Evaine?"

Zillah cleared her throat, "Uhm, may I know where's Meriadoc?"

Meriadoc raised her hands, "I am here, my lady,"

"Merry! I'm so glad to see you!" Zillah dashes towards her and embraced her

"It's good to see you too, lady Zillah," Merry stated, "Is princess Evaine's with you?"

Zillah's expression changed and shook her head, "I want you to come with me, Merry,"

"Right now?"

"Yes, right now,"

Merry have no choice but to follow Zillah. They went directly to the Queen's room and saw Fergus pinning Chrysalis into the wall while seizing her neck

Zillah uttered in shock, "Father..."

Fergus glared at her. Zillah trembles once more, she has never seen her father this angry before.

"I am so disappointed in you, Zillah."
