"Everyone please welcome Caroline Davis, the new Chief Marketing Officer of the Woods & Knight Corporation", I announced back breaking my Lizz's world with my own hands.

Shattering her into pieces and breaking every promise that I have done to her. Shamelessly!

I failed today. I just failed for my love.
I failed as her best friend. I failed as her husband. I failed as her protector.

Someone who promised her all the stars and the moon but ended up giving her nothing but darkness.

As those words left my mouth, I could sense her heart breaking absolutely making no noise but shattering into pieces. The pieces which are making my heart bleed giving me an unforgettable wound. Which I have given to my Lizz and to myself as well. I have not only ruined her world but I have destroyed our marriage, the friendship, the trust, the faith, everything that has been holding us together. Today I have left nothing more to be saved now.

I have broken her beyond repair.

The whole room was left with people murmuring around and Caroline smirking whereas Lizz's silence was enough to drift apart my world.

I curse myself for doing this. I curse myself for snatching her only reason for survival, 'her work' from her. I should be ashamed of myself for breaking the life of the only person who stood beside me no matter what.

I loved her but I destroyed her more.
And you can't be the lover and the destroyer at the same time.

"Did you hear that, ladies and gentlemen? I'm the new Chief Marketing Officer of this Company", Caroline said in her bitter voice. Everyone was shocked and their expressions says it all that they wanted an answer. Lizz needed an answer but she was glued at her position and was absolutely numb. My eyes were fixed on her and between all those whispers, our eyes were silently saying a lot to each other.

"Mr. Woods, what is she saying?", one of our shareholders asked getting up from his seat when suddenly Lizz snapped back to the reality. I could sense the feeling of shock on her face.

She stood up facing me, "Ryan? What are you saying? I'm the CMO of this Company", I heard Lizz asking me with teary eyes, her voice breaking down with every word.

"I'm ending this meeting here. I request everyone to leave for now....", I ordered and everyone nodded and left the conference room expect Lizz and Caroline.

I have to do this.
I have to face her, it's now or never.

I held my breath for a while and sighed heavily, looking deeply into her eyes, "You heard it right, Lizzy. You are dismissed from the position of the CMO."

C'mon Ryan! You can do this!

"Stop with this nonsense, Ryan. I'm done with your joke. That's our Company. If you are the CEO of Woods& Knight Corporation, then I'm the CMO here. Our fathers were equal partners and we chose this position for ourselves", she stated in confidence.

"Yes, but you yourself gave your position to Caroline Davis. Don't you even know that?", I smirked back at her with an evilness in my tone.

I want her to hate me. I want her to walk away, only then she will be safe.

"What the fuck you said right now? This Company is my life, why would I give it to someone else especially to this bitch....", she snapped back looking at Caroline, fuming in anger.

"Mind your tongue woman....", I pointed at her sternly.

"You are here fucking speaking the bullshit and you expect me to mind my tongue....? Really, Ryan....? Are you for real?"
