"Frank, come here," a woman who neither Nathan nor his sister had ever met before said when the front door opened. They heard heavy footsteps and then a man appeared next to her. "Aren't they just adorable?"
"I'll say. Are you girls twins or something?"
"No, sir," Emily frowned. "He's my—"
"Trick or treat," Nathan smiled, sidetracking his sister. Once she saw the goodies, he didn't need to do anything else. She was so busy chomping from then on, she was no problem.
Nathan was pleased with himself. He fooled them all. They actually thought they were sisters. It made him feel like a grownup. He could do anything he wanted.
