Creatures receive their souls at the moment of birth through the benevolence of the Goddess in the form of a gift. However, the final state of the soul at the end of their lives depends directly on the actions taken throughout their journey. As long as good deeds are practiced, the soul will remain bright at the end of the path and will then be embraced by the Goddess's arms and sent to eternity, life after death. Those who engage in evil, however, become hedonists and have their souls stained and dominated by darkness. The greater the evil committed, the larger the stain, and if nothing is done for redemption, the individual will enter an irreversible path leading straight to eternal damnation, where the sins committed in their life will torment them for all eternity.

Murders, manipulations, rapes, and even genocides — the sins committed by a single man, directly or indirectly, have come back to haunt him. The constant fear of death forced him to make decisions that not only changed his life but also influenced the lives of all villagers and citizens throughout Japan, instilling fear in their hearts and completely destroying their lives and families. Burned homes, shattered dreams — a trail of unimaginable destruction was left behind. Faced with such injustice, the Goddess's Karma decided to act, influencing the fate of the perpetrator of all evil so that he would encounter the one destined to stop him.

And the encounter happened. Although his death was not the outcome of that meeting, Karma repaid him for all the evil he had caused up to that point, allowing him to be struck in a way that left him in a coma for months until he could finally recover.

Six months have passed since then, and the Demon King has remained in a coma all this time — at least, until now.

~{THE AWAKENING}~

A suffocating feeling engulfs your body with every step. All your instincts scream 'danger' at every moment, and the scent of death draws nearer regardless of how much you try to escape. The grand Demon King finds himself powerless, reduced to a mere image of his former self, his demonized form — a shadow of what he once was.

— Damn it, damn it! Get away from me! Leave me alone! - Muzan shouts into the wind as he desperately tries to elude his pursuer through the endless castle's rooms and corridors.

Fearful for his life, the Demon King suffers an eternal pursuit by his greatest fear ever since he opened his eyes in his castle after being defeated by a crimson-eyed, crimson-haired hunter. Feeling humiliated and helpless, Muzan is consumed by unending agony until, once again, his sole functional brain loses control over his legs, causing him to collapse onto the floor, at the mercy of the thing chasing him.

Slowly but relentlessly, an infinite fear takes hold of his entire body, distorting everything he sees and hears. Before his eyes, the crimson figure crosses the corridor he had previously raced through — wielding a blood-drenched sword, wielded solely for killing. An incandescent sun emerges around it, tearing through the darkness shrouding the infinite castle and causing its foundations to crumble. Surrounded by a crumbling castle and unable to escape his pursuer, Muzan gazes at the approaching figure one last time before feeling the searing heat of the blade severing his neck, and in his final breath...

The last thing he sees is a relieved smile on a face adorned with two earrings that, for centuries, have been the sources of his worst nightmares. Even in the face of death, however, Muzan refuses to accept it and mentally questions whether he did everything he could, whether there was something more he could have done to achieve complete immortality. Surrounded by regrets and the incessant voices of his victims' agonies, Muzan clenches his teeth in an act of defiance and finally allows himself to be carried toward death, toward eternal damnation.

However, his soul interrupts its journey to the 'other side'. Something pulls him back, and seconds later, his eyes open once again to observe the ceiling of his quarters in the endless castle.
