(MONTHS EARLIER, IN A CLANDESTINE CHINESE LABORATORY)
— Erina Natsuo. Born in the Okinawa province, she is approximately thirteen years old and has been considered the second case of genetic/supernatural mutation in all of Japan's history since its foundation. - said a man wearing a large white lab coat with a demonic mask on his face, as he spoke to the humanoid creature by his side. The creature was tall and exuded a dark energy as it breathed. The man in the lab coat then presented a clipboard with various medical and research information. — Her parents have been silenced, and she has no other relatives. There is no documentation related to her in the imperial government records. For all of Japan, Erina Natsuo does not exist.
¢ So, we won't call her that. A person who has lost her identity, her parents, and is enslaved by her own blood... let's call her Xiaolu, codename: Project Eastern Dragon. - said the creature, tossing the clipboard onto the table. ¢ That's enough. After all, she's just an object among other research objects, even if she's the main one. Besides, with an appearance like hers, calling her an Eastern dragon isn't wrong in any way. - it concluded, looking through a glass wall into the laboratory where Erina's body remained strapped to a gurney, with various tubes and syringes attached to her arms.
— With her mutation, my lord, you would be able to perfectly visualize the future and the past, something many gods sought to achieve but failed, or only accomplished partially. - said the man in the lab coat, the responsible research doctor.
¢ The power of perfect clairvoyance: Omniscience. Even that monstrosity couldn't achieve it. This thing is the key to the master's victory, to all of our victory. - the creature's hair burst into purple flames with hints of pure darkness. It was Yakamochi, one of the seven demon kings. ¢ They'll come after us once they find out, that is... if they find out. - it concluded with a cynical smile.
— It'll be fun to see them try to stop him, sir. It always is. - the doctor grinned malevolently and pressed one of the buttons. Screams of pain and sounds of intense electricity echoed through the research room, and in front of their eyes, neither the doctor nor the creature showed any signs of empathy.
...[Shanghai, China. 07/05/1922 - 04:17 am - Present day]
An explosion occurred, sending clouds of dust and pink flames in all directions. Nezuko and Michikatsu were seen flying away, propelled by the force of the blast, while Yakamochi descended slowly to the shattered floor of the mansion ruins. His face bore minor cuts and burns, the cuts healing rapidly and the burns taking a bit longer. Calmly, he approached Hatsume, who was desperately shielding Erina with her own body. Witnessing this scene, Yakamochi began to laugh uncontrollably, writhing as if he were a possessed puppet.
— What's so amusing?! You toy with people's lives and think you have the right to laugh about it?! - Hatsume shouted at Yakamochi. Having never encountered a demon, let alone a demon king, Hatsume remained unaware of how indifferent such a demonic creature could be toward human lives. Nevertheless, that didn't stop her from being certain that the creature before her was far worse than the demons she had heard stories and rumors about throughout Japan. — You're nothing but a coward!
Those words made Yakamochi stop laughing immediately. Suddenly, the air grew colder and heavier, and before Hatsume could react, her lungs were completely filled with the cursed miasma emitted from the flaming hair of the demon king. In painful agony, Hatsume began to cough and choke on the dark smoke, blood trickling from her nose and the corners of her lips.
¢ Well~, don't die just yet! I must say, even though you're stronger than most humans, you're still weaker than those two! In fact, you're nonexistent—a mere ant. Nothing more than a fly next to an elephant. - His gaze turned bloodthirsty, his intent to kill as suffocating as his miasma. ¢ I haven't even used my Profound Darkness Art yet, but they were defeated so easily it was almost pitiful. Now, return what belongs to me!
