"Care come get ready for bed" Jay called down to her
"In a second" her eyes fixated on the tv
"No now please" Jay told her
"I said in a second, I'm watching something" her eyes still fixated on the tv
"Cara come here please, don't make me ask you again"
"Wait!" she protested
Jay walked over to her grabbing her off of the couch "if you had come when I asked you to come I'd have let you finish your show after your ready"
She wouldn't stop thrashing in attempt to get out of Jays strong grip "no you wouldn't"
"Yes I would, I said get ready for bed so your ready for when you do go to bed" Jay placed her on the floor as they reached her room and sat on her bed "if you stopped having a tantrum you'd realise it's not even your bedtime, I was simply getting you ready, I mean do I ever make you go to bed before Will is home to say goodnight within reasonable timing" Jay explained
"Oh"
"But now you can get ready and go straight to bed, next time I ask you to come you come, but I'll still send Will in to tell you goodnight when he gets home"
"That's not fair!" She stomped her foot
"That's too bad" Jay said paying no attention to her tantrum as he got up from sitting on her bed to get her pjs out of her draw
Cara saw this as her opportunity to make a break for it.
She ran out of her room and straight to the tv where she plopped herself onto the couch and pressed the unpause button on the remote
Jay was quick to find himself standing infront of her blocking her view from the tv
"Do you mind?"
Jay raised an eyebrow.
He was taken back by her blatant attitude "Do you want a spanking?"
She looked at him with wide eyes "no..."
"Then get your ass up and into your room. right now!"
She didn't move
"I'm going to count to three, if I get to three you will be getting a spanking...one" Jay threatened
She still didn't move but by the look on her face she was deeply contemplating her options, not that there was a lot to think about, she did not want a spanking that was for sure
"Two..." Jay continued in a very stern voice
"Thr-"
"Fine!" Throws herself off the couch and makes her way to her room but not without feeling a harsh swat
"Oww!" she threw her hands back trying to rub out the sting
she glared at him "You said if you get to three"
"You let me get too close before you decided to listen to me which is a problem" Jay said
"That's not fair I should be allowed to go back to watch tv then, you didn't hold up your side" she tried to bargain
"Caraleigh this isn't a negotiation between two adults, your 8, and I did hold up my side, I did not spank you I gave you one swat" he reprimanded
"It's the same thing!" She argued
"Trust me it's not, do you want me to show you the difference" he threatened
"No!" She stomped her foot
"then cool it"
They were back in her bedroom finally able to get her changed and ready for bed
"Right do you need the toilet or a drink?"
"No" she said glumly
"Okay then in bed you go" he told her
She scrunched up her face "But I was good"
"For about 5 minutes, which is nothing compared to the time you weren't" he contrasted
"No but I was good your supposed to let me watch tv now" she told him
"I don't know where you got this idea that we need to let you do anything and everything's unfair, you did something wrong, this is your consequence, which I warned you before I put it in place" he said in his no nonsense voice
"But jayy-"
"Bed."
"I don't want to"
Jay sighed and rubbed his hand over his face "please coorperate with me Care, what's going on with you"
"I don't want to go to bed"
"Why not"
"Cause" she shrugged
"Give me a proper reason and I might just consider it" he reasoned with her
She darted her eyes around the room scanning for an answer she could not find "I just don't want to"
"We'll I think you tired and cranky, so your going to go to bed have a good nights sleep and your gonna have a much better attitude in the morning so we don't butt heads, okay?"
"Fine" she looked down
"Look at me" he titled her head up
"Yes Jay" she corrected
He gave her a soft smile "Better"
"But-"
Jay let out the deepest sigh possible "Oh Caraleigh please"
"No I just want to say goodnight to Will" she said
"You will as soon as he gets home I'll send him up okay" he told her
"Okay jay" she smiled
He tucked her into bed and kissed her forehead before making his way to the door
"Jay" she called out
"Yes Cara" he stopped at the door
"I love you" Jay took a second to let that sink in as it tugged at his heart, he must be doing something right
"I love you too bug" he confirmed
He knew she loved him and vice versa but in a moment where they were arguing it was nice for one another to hear.
When Will got home he kissed a sleeping Cara goodnight as promised.

I truly haven't had the motivation to write nor had an idea as to what to write, im so so sorry for that.
There's surely a lot of mistakes in this and it is a little short, I was just trying to get something out, in no way is this great work.
