."We should leave before those two devils see us," Jimin said, urgency clear in his voice. The race was over, and it made sense to leave silently before Namjoon and Taehyung noticed them.
"Yes, please!" Mingyu almost shouted, emphasizing his desire to go home.
Jungkook nodded, and as they were about to turn away after giving Daeun a nod, someone was suddenly thrown to the ground in front of them, causing the crowd, and the trio, to turn their attention to the scene.
Four guards hovered over the shaking guy on the ground. Jimin, Jungkook, and Mingyu watched with wide eyes, unsure of what was happening.
"The audacity of sneaking in uninvited! I pity you for ruining your life like this," one of the guards said, kneeling down in front of the now crying boy.
"Sir, please... it won't happen again. One of my friends brought me here forcefully and then ran off, leaving me here... please..." the guy cried, begging heavily.
"That gives us more reason to make an example out of you. More people like you need to see what happens when you think you can enter here without knowing your place!" The guard pulled out his gun, eliciting gasps from three of them.
Jimin, Jungkook, and Mingyu took steps back, the scene too much for them to handle. Mingyu, too scared, took two more steps back and almost screamed when he collided with someone. He turned around to find a handsome man with broad shoulders, tall and perfectly shaped, wearing a blue race suit. Mingyu recognized him from the race; he was called Sloth.
"Hey, you study at J.K. College, right?" the guy asked, as if he had seen Mingyu before.
Mingyu shook his head hurriedly; the last thing he wanted was for anyone here to know where he studied.
The guy looked at him closely before nodding. "Yes, I know you do. I saw you yesterday at the freshers' party. I'm Jeon Wonwoo. I also stud-" Before he could finish, a gunshot rang out, breaking the moment.
Behind Mingyu, Jimin collapsed to the ground in shock. Jungkook hurriedly pulled him up while keeping a hand on Mingyu, trying to drag his friends out. The crowd seemed almost used to such scenes, but the trio was dumbfounded, some of the people in the crowd looking at them suspiciously.
Jungkook pulled Jimin off the ground, grabbed Mingyu's hand, and started to drag his two friends out. The longer they stayed, the messier things would get. But as he dragged them, he felt eyes on him. Amid the countless gazes, Jungkook's eyes locked onto a pair of wide, brown almond ones, staring at him with a look of recognition and shock.
With that last look, Jungkook dragged Jimin and Mingyu away.

The three of them sat in silence in the park near their house, the quietness feeling almost oppressive. They looked lost, heads down, each lost in their thoughts.
"I never thought my brother and Taehyung would be part of something like this," Jungkook whispered, the moonlight casting a soft glow on his milky skin.
The other two boys sighed in agreement.
"Our families are too decent for this scary part of the world. Taehyung... his family runs a business, my father is a principal, and Namjoon's family owns a travel business. Then how? What made them part of this dead play?" Jungkook said, a heavy sigh escaping his lips, his heart weighed down by unbearable worries.
After a few moments of silence, Jungkook stood up. "I'm very sorry. I took you guys there. Forgive me for giving you nightmares."
Jimin stood up as well, placing a hand on Jungkook's shoulder. "We are adults, Kookie. We made our own decision to go there. You have no reason to be sorry."
