Jungkook let out a soft, frustrated whine, squirming slightly as the bright sunlight filtered through the window, directly hitting his face. He shifted his head, trying to bury his face into his arm for relief, but the hard surface of the window made it impossible to get comfortable.

And then there was that weight. Something pressed firmly against his shoulder, restricting his movement.

Blinking against the harsh light, he opened his eyes, groggily taking in his surroundings. The dull hum of the bus engine and the quiet chatter of his fellow students filled the air. The scenery outside was a blur of green fields and winding roads—right, the trip.

As his thoughts began to catch up, the odd heaviness on his shoulder returned to his attention.

Confused, Jungkook turned his head to the side, his gaze falling on a mop of soft, dark brown hair. His breath hitched.

Taehyung.

His supposed mortal enemy, was leaning against him, head resting on his shoulder. His face was uncharacteristically peaceful, his lashes brushing against his cheekbones, lips slightly parted as he slept.

For a moment, Jungkook just stared, caught between disbelief and a strange fluttering sensation in his chest.

The urge to push him off was immediate, but Jungkook hesitated. Taehyung's face looked so calm, almost vulnerable, so unlike the sharp edged expressions he usually wore when they bickered. His lips parted as if murmuring something in his sleep, the faintest trace of a frown ghosting over his features.

Jungkook sighed deeply, tilting his head back against the seat. "Unbelievable," he muttered under his breath, though his tone lacked its usual bite. Instead of moving, he stayed still, a reluctant warmth spreading across his face.

The sunlight was still annoying, but somehow, Jungkook didn’t mind it as much anymore.

Jungkook sat stiffly, his gaze fixed on the passing scenery outside. The weight on his shoulder was still there, Taehyung sleeping soundly against him. He tried to ignore it, focusing on the rolling green hills and winding roads, but his discomfort only grew.

This is so wrong, Jungkook thought bitterly. Of all people to fall asleep on him, it had to be Taehyung—Kim Taehyung, the bane of his existence.

He exhaled sharply, glancing toward the front of the bus to distract himself. That’s when he saw Jimin.

Jimin was speaking to Yoongi, gesturing animatedly as his voice carried faintly over the bus's hum. Jungkook couldn’t hear what was being said, but his gut churned when Jimin pointed toward the back. Towards him.. Towards them??

Yoongi nodded, and Jimin started walking down the aisle.

Panic gripped Jungkook. He stiffened, glancing at Taehyung on his shoulder, then back at Jimin. If Jimin saw them like this..Taehyung sleeping on him..there’d be no end to the teasing!! He could practically hear the whispers already.

"Do something!"  his brain screamed.

Without thinking, Jungkook reached up and grabbed a handful of Taehyung’s hair, giving it a sharp tug.

“AHHHHHHHH!”

Taehyung’s scream pierced the air, drawing every eye on the bus to their seat. The weight vanished from Jungkook’s shoulder as Taehyung jolted upright, clutching his head.

“What happened??” Jimin’s alarmed voice came from a few rows ahead as he hurried toward them.

Jungkook quickly leaned back, feigning nonchalance as he crossed his arms. “Finally awake?” he muttered, though his racing heart betrayed his calm façade.
