Angeline's POV
The familiarity of my hometown was a welcome change from the craziness of LA. I was finally back home, and I couldn't wait to hang out with my friends. Alahna, Nick, Chris, and Nate had planned a get-together at our favourite café, and I was excited to tell them everything else that happened.
The café was busy with its usual crowd when I walked in. I spotted my friends at a corner table, waving enthusiastically. My heart warmed at the sight of them, and I made my way over with a wide smile.
"Hey, guys!" I greeted, sliding into a seat beside Alahna.
"Welcome back!" Nick said, giving me a friendly nudge. "How was LA?"
"It was amazing," I said, my excitement bubbling over. "I met some great people, and things are really starting to come together."
Alahna leaned in, her eyes bright with curiosity. "Tell us everything! What was it like signing with StarRise?"
I took a sip of my coffee, savouring the familiar taste. "The signing was incredible. The team at StarRise is fantastic, and they made me feel so welcomed. I'm already planning my next trip back for some writing camps with my manager."
Nate raised an eyebrow. "Writing camps? That sounds intense but awesome."
"It is," I confirmed. "I'll be working on new material and collaborating with other artists. It's a big step, but I'm excited for it."
Chris leaned forward, a grin on his face. "That sounds like a great opportunity. When are you going back?"
"In April," I said. "And you guys are going back to LA too, right?"
Nick nodded. "Yeah, we're heading there for a month. We should definitely meet up while we're there."
"I'd love that!" I said. "I can introduce you to Eli and Dani. They're the brother-sister duo I told you about."
Nick's interest piqued. "Eli, huh? How's that going?"
I hesitated for a moment, choosing my words carefully. "It's going good. We hung out a lot while I was there, and we've been texting non-stop since I got home. But we're still just friends, nothing serious."
Alahna's eyes narrowed slightly. "Just friends, huh? Sounds like there's a little more to it."
I shrugged, trying to downplay it. "Not really. Like I said, I'm still figuring things out, and it's been nice to have someone to talk to. But for now, it's nothing more than that."
Nate and Alahna exchanged glances but didn't push further. The conversation shifted to other topics, and we spent the afternoon catching up, laughing, and reminiscing about old times. It felt good to be back with my friends, and the familiarity was comforting.
