•Angelines POV•
I woke up to the warmth of Eli's body next to mine. The sunlight was just starting to peek through the curtains, casting a soft glow in the room. I felt Eli stir, and moments later, he kissed my forehead gently.
"Happy birthday, Angeline," he whispered, his voice soft and affectionate.
I smiled, feeling a surge of happiness. "Thank you, Eli," I said, snuggling closer to him. "I'm so glad you're here with me."
We shared a moment in bed, wrapped in each other's arms. Just as I was about to say something, the doorbell rang. Eli groaned playfully and rolled out of bed.
"Guess we've got an early visitor," he said, slipping on a shirt as he headed to the door.
I heard him talking to someone, and soon he returned with a tray of breakfast. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm pastries filled the room.
"Happy birthday, Angeline. Love, Mom," Eli read the note aloud, setting the tray on the bed. "Your mom really knows how to make your day special."
I laughed, touched by my mom's thoughtful gesture. "She's the best. And so are you for bringing this up."
We dug into the breakfast, chatting and laughing. After we finished eating, Eli got up and retrieved something from another room. He walked back over, holding a bouquet of 24 red roses.
"Happy birthday, Angeline," he said, handing them to me.
I took the roses, a bittersweet feeling washing over me. They were beautiful, but I couldn't help but think of Matt. He knew I didn't like red roses; if it were him, he would've gotten me baby pink roses with baby's breath—my favorite. But I pushed the thought aside and smiled at Eli; he wouldn't know what my favourite flowers are.
"They're gorgeous, Eli. Thank you so much," I said, leaning in to kiss him.
Eli then handed me a small box. "And this is your main gift."
I opened the box to find a pair of stunning earrings. They sparkled in the light, and I couldn't help but feel grateful for Eli's thoughtfulness.
"They're beautiful, Eli. Thank you," I said, hugging him tightly.
"Oh, and another gift arrived with breakfast," Eli said, handing me a wrapped package. "This one's from Alahna."
I unwrapped the gift to find a set of personalized journals, each one with a unique design and my initials embossed on the cover. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gift from Alahna.
"These are perfect. I can't wait to start using them to write lyrics," I said, feeling touched by Alahna's thoughtfulness.
After we finished with the gifts, I decided to get ready for the day while Eli relaxed for a bit. A couple of hours later, showered and dressed, I heard a knock on the door. I opened it to find Nick, Chris, Dani, and Madi standing there, all smiling.
"Happy birthday, Angeline!" they chorused.
"Thanks, guys! Come on in," I said, stepping aside to let them in.
