•Angeline's POV•
A week had passed since I returned to Boston, but my mind was still in LA. I hadn't told anyone about my thoughts of moving there. Then there was the whole Eli situation; though we talked almost every day, he was patient, understanding, and never pressured me for an answer about dating him, which I appreciated more than he knew.
It was the end of April, and I decided it was time to talk to my mom about the possibility of moving. Sitting down at the kitchen table with her, I took a deep breath.
"Mom, I need to talk to you about something important," I began, my hands fidgeting with the edge of the tablecloth.
She looked up from her coffee, concern etched on her face. "What is it, honey?"
"I've been thinking a lot about LA. About moving there," I said, watching her reaction closely.
Her eyes widened slightly, but she didn't look surprised. "Do you think it's the right move for you?"
"I do. There are so many opportunities there for my music career. And I've been spending a lot of time in the studio, meeting with Maria and other industry people. I feel like it's where I need to be," I explained, my voice gaining confidence as I spoke.
She reached across the table, taking my hand in hers. "Angeline, I want what's best for you. If you believe this is the right step, then do it. I'll support you no matter what."
A wave of relief washed over me, and I smiled. "Thanks, Mom. That means a lot."
After our conversation, I was almost convinced to make the move. But there was one more person I needed to talk to—Alahna. I invited her over that afternoon, my nerves tingling as I waited for her to arrive.
When Alahna got to my house, we headed up to my room. She flopped onto my bed, looking at me expectantly. "Alright, spill. What's up?"
"I've been thinking about moving to LA," I said, sitting down beside her.
Her eyes widened in excitement. "Oh my god, really? That's huge!"
"Yeah, I wanted to get your advice. What do you think?" I asked, nervously chewing on my bottom lip.
Alahna took a deep breath, her expression turning serious. "I'll miss you like crazy, but honestly, I think you should do it. All I want is for you to succeed and be happy. If LA is where you need to be, then go for it."
Her words were like a weight lifted off my shoulders. I felt a surge of confidence. "Thank you, Alahna. That means so much."
She pulled me into a tight hug. "You've got this, Angeline."
Feeling lighter than I had in days, I ran downstairs with Alahna following close behind. "Mom!" I called out.
She looked up from her laptop, a curious smile on her face. "What's going on?"
