. . !!CHAPTER START!!
Many hours later
Hours passed as David and Kaigaku continued their walk along the trail to Mount Fujikasane. The sun was beginning to set, casting long shadows behind them. The air was growing cooler, and the atmosphere was filled with a tense anticipation. Neither of them had spoken a word to each other the entire journey, nor had they exchanged even a glance. David knew there was zero chance of cooperating with Kaigaku after the fight they had months ago.
As they walked, David felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. He had watched the anime and knew what awaited them at the Final Selection. The trials ahead would be grueling, and the demons they would face were formidable. He had prepared himself for this moment, but the reality of it was still daunting.
Kaigaku walked with a determined stride, his expression focused and intense. David couldn't help but feel a pang of resentment towards him, but he pushed it aside. There was no room for personal grudges now; they had a challenge to overcome.

Minutes later, David and Kaigaku found themselves surrounded by the beautiful and ethereal light of the wisteria trees. The purple blossoms hung like a protective veil, casting a serene glow over the area. David watched in awe and amazement, feeling a sense of peace wash over him. The sight was even more breathtaking than he had imagined from the anime.
"Wow, I know wisteria looks beautiful in the anime, but this is insane," David muttered to himself, a wide smile spreading across his face as he gently touched one of the blossoms. The flowers swayed gently in the breeze, their fragrance filling the air.
Kaigaku, however, did not stop to admire the scenery. He continued walking forward with a determined stride, leaving David behind. Seeing Kaigaku walk ahead, David snapped out of his reverie and hurried to catch up.
