After a refreshing soak, you emerged as one of the last from the women's bathhouse, feeling your body lightened and your mind clearer.
"Ahh, what a splendid bath," Kikoru remarked, carrying her bag in one hand while clutching a towel to her chest. Beside her, Hakua stood tall, her athletic frame towering over everyone. You found yourself staring, awed by her height, your mouth slightly agape as you trailed behind them, thinking, 'She's really tall...'
Your surprise turned to bewilderment as you noticed four male figures sprawled on the ground, their faces and private areas modestly covered with towels. Nearby, Reno sat beside Kafka, fanning the unconscious boys with a look of exasperation.
"Did I stumble upon a crime scene?" Kikoru asked dryly, her tone laced with unimpressed irritation as she surveyed the scene before her.
Akari, already outside and waiting for you, glanced at the fallen boys, sweat dropping. "Oh, it's you, Kikoru. Apparently, they talked too long in the bath and got light-headed," she explained. Kikoru walked over to Kafka, crouching down to pull the towel off his flushed, dehydrated face.
"They said it was about Captain Ashiro," Akari added, her voice tinged with amusement.
Kikoru scoffed, straightening up as she let the towel fall back onto Kafka's reddened face with a casual flick of her wrist. "Hmph. I swear, boys are such morons," she muttered, shaking her head as she turned away, clearly unimpressed by their antics.
You chuckled softly as you joined the group of girls heading back to the women's quarters. Once inside the room assigned to you, Hakua and Akari quickly engaged in conversation with one of your roommates, negotiating a bed exchange, which was soon agreed upon.
"Awesome! I'll take the top bunk!" Hakua announced with excitement, and Akari nodded in agreement. You placed your belongings on the bottom bunk, which you were sharing with Kikoru, who had claimed the top bed.
As everyone settled in for the night, you began packing your bag, carefully placing your pen, notebook, laptop, and camera inside. Kikoru, already nestled in her top bunk, noticed your preparations. "Nee-chan, where are you going?" she asked, curiosity evident in her voice.
Glancing up at her, you offered a reassuring smile. "Oh, I'm just heading to the library for a bit. I have some important things to take care of." With a gentle goodnight to the others, you left the room quietly.
The hallway was quiet as you walked through it, the soft padding of your footsteps echoing slightly against the walls. Upon reaching the library, you pushed open the door and found the room empty. "Perfect," you murmured to yourself, pleased with the solitude. You set your belongings down on a table and took a moment to scan the shelves, your eyes lingering on to the books.
