The weeks that followed were the best. the additional lessons had been taking a toll on me without even factoring in my extra classes with each teacher. However, my mates were spoiling me more than normal so I was all for it. 

My extra lessons with Professor Lupin began and we ended up moving onto other things, understanding I was not yet ready to face a Boggart we instead worked on some more advanced Defence against the dark arts. I found it all very interesting and extremely useful with it being the weakest of my subjects. 

Another thing that lifted my spirits was that my Runespoor egg (three headed snake) had hatched. The creature was a beautiful shade of orange mixed in with black and I found the differences between it's heads endearing. I had also been able to figure out what the final creature I purchased while in Diagon Alley was. 

It seems that the creature, that I have now identified as a Swooping evil first known record by Newt Scamander, does not have to eat very often. Luckily for me, instead of wanting brains he was quite fond of chocolate (similar to Venom from the marvel film venom that Max told me about.) 

Our Care of magical creatures lessons however were not so good. With Draco having been injured Hagrid has been forced to make the lessons a lot less dangerous and therefore less fun. We were now taking care of Flobberworms, much to everyone's dismay. 

My mates were able to cheer me up however when they told me that the first Hogsmeade village was coming up after Halloween. Don't get me wrong I was upset Harry couldn't go but I just couldn't wait. What can I say, I like to shop. 

So on Halloween morning I got up and said goodbye to my brothers before heading into the small town. Hogsmeade in my opinion is not as interesting as Diagon Alley but I had lots of fun exploring and spent a lot of money in Honeydukes. My mates even convinced me to go into the hairdressing salon opposite Honeydukes causing me to have a temporary streak of white running through my strawberry blonde hair. 

Once I had finished shopping and looking around we all head into the three broomsticks for a drink and snacks. On the way back to Hogwarts an owl comes flying at us and I stretch out my arm for the bird to rest on. In it's claws is a small wooden box that I pass to Max and a scroll is attached to its ankle. I take the paper and the bird fly's away. 

'dear miss potter, 
inside the box is some creatures that were recently rescused from an illegal magical breeding center. neither me nor my boss could think of a better home.

I stare at the letter for a moment before passing it to Luca and taking the box back from Max. "We need to get back to our dorm." I say mainly to myself. The others don't respond as we pick up our pace. 

We arrive back at the school before most of the other students so it is fairly quiet as we walk to our room and proceed to enter my ring where it will be safer for all of us if these creatures are violent. 

upon releasing the creatures tears well in my eyes. The creatures before me are not naturally occurring even in the wizarding world.  the first creature looks like a regular baby snow leopard until it stretches its body showing off an impressive set of wings that mark it as a hybrid. The other creatures follow the same pattern. 

one looks like a cross between a rabbit and a dragon with white and grey fur and light pink patches. Another with a cross between a tiger and a black scorpion based on the black reptilian tail replacing the normal cat like one. There is also a panther with five tails instead of one which I can't tell what it has been crossed with. and lastly a wolf with feathered wings and antlers which is also unclear. 

"that's just wrong." I hear Draco say and I nod silently. 

"don't cry princess." Alex says as he pulls me into a hug. "Just think, the people who did this will now be rotting away in Azkaban and you will take better care of these creatures than any of witch or Wizard ever could." I nod and pull away walking over to the creatures. 

the snow leopard watches me warily but comes closer and after taking a sniff rubs his head against my leg like a house cat so I reach down and run my fingers through his soft fur. The panther walks towards the wall and starts pacing along the enclosed space with a clear, don't come near me vibe, exuding from him. 

The tiger scorpion and the dragon rabbit both hide behind the wolf as I come closer so I pause and just sit down crossed legged allowing them to come to me when they are ready. eventually the dragon rabbit comes out from behind the wolf and hops over to me, pausing to let out a sneeze causing a small burst of fire to come from her mouth. "aww." I say as I scoop her up into my arms, letting her soft fur brush across my skin. 

seeing that I hadn't harmed either of their friends the wolf and tiger scorpion both come closer, sniffing at me before slumping down. I smile and begin to pet each of them on rotation as Max and Alex come and sit down with me. The others all smile before heading off to do something else. 

At some point the panther stops his pacing and lies down and sneakily shuffles closer until he too is engulfed in the pile of soft fur and cuteness.
