Forever is but a dream.

Approaching them, she noticed Reet sitting there with a look of bravery. Nimrit's eyes questioned him nonverbally and he smirked.

Dickey got up from the sofa and stood face-to-face with Nimrit. He observed her head to toe and said, "Hello, dear Niece. How have you been? You look great, though. It looks like Swarnbhoomi suits you. Are the exams over?"

Nimrit's eyes shifted to Reet playing with her fingers; a sign of anxiety. She sat next to her and replied, "I am fine. Swarnbhoomi suits us the best. What makes you come here?"

Dickey sat on the sofa opposite them and looked at Amber's photo on the wall. "I am here to check up on you. You look well so I will leave."

Dickey got up to leave, astonishing Nimrit and Reet. They couldn't believe he would come without a purpose and it raised their suspicions.

"Uh! Don't look at me like that. A brother can visit his sister's house to see if she is fine. Also, now that Nimrit's birthday is close, I thought I'd see if you need help in the distribution of your inheritance. Charity, of course. I know you both don't want any part of your inheritance; however, your pictures from King Abheyda's wedding suggest otherwise. The jewellery you wore was from..."

"They were from my grandfather, so we used them. Now leave. We don't owe you any explanations." Nimrit couldn't bear the sight of the monster standing in front of her and wanted him to leave immediately.

Dickey sniggered ominously and in a deep tone warned Nimrit, "You know the deal, dear niece. Get working on it."

The door of Nimrit's house opened catching everyone's attention. An angry Nivedya walked in and stood in front of Dickey. He gave him a death stare and challenged him to play his dirty tricks.

"Hello, Prince Nivedya Rajvanshi." Dickey bowed his head slightly in courtesy with a sly grin playing on his lips.

Nivedya raised his finger and warned him, "You know you are not supposed to set foot on my land. Leave before I put you behind the bars."

Dickey stifled a laugh and left giving a sinister look to Nimrit. A silent threat to the treatment he received from her boyfriend.

When Dickey left Nimrit asked Nivedya, "Why are you here?"

Nivedya's anger vanished hearing Nimrit's forever question whenever he visits her house. He sat next to Reet and took her hand in his. "Are you alright? He is gone."

Reet nodded in positive but looked pale. Dickey was a part of her life she wished never existed.

Nimrit was happy the exams had ended but Dickey's sudden appearance was enough to create a frenzy in her system. Nivedya put his hand around her shoulder and asked her if she was alright.

"I am fine. You can leave now." Nimrit replied and sat on the sofa with her eyes closed.

Nivedya and Reet exchanged puzzled glances, bewildered by Nimrit's behaviour which had undergone a drastic change. They were desperate to comprehend the turmoil within her. Nivedya harboured concerns about further secrets she might be concealing, adding to her distress. He wished for her to open up, but her curt demeanour was complicating communication.

Nivedya took a seat beside her and mentioned that Shawn's hotel would be hosting a party that evening to celebrate the end of exams. He was briefing her about the preparations but Nimrit was hardly listening to him.

She gave him a bored look and snapped, "You are thinking of a party when you have an ailing father and a traitor at his office to track? Shouldn't you be helping your family rather than boozing with friends?"
