He searched her face for a reaction, hoping his words had reached her.
He took another deep breath, then said, "Will you-will you go out with me?"Yuri's breath caught in her throat. Her mind was racing, but she couldn't seem to find the right words. She cared about him-she knew that much-but her feelings were a tangled mess, and she wasn't sure what they meant.
She finally looked away, biting her lip. "I... I don't know Dk," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "I don't know what I feel right now. I just... I need time to figure it out."
He watched her closely, his heart sinking, but he forced a gentle smile to his lips. He didn't want to pressure her or show how much her uncertainty hurt him. "That's okay, Yuri," he said softly, doing his best to keep his voice steady. "You don't have to know right now. Take all the time you need."
Yuri looked back at him, her heart heavy with uncertainty and guilt. She could see the pain he was trying to hide, but she also saw the understanding in his eyes. "Thank you," she murmured, feeling torn.
He nodded, still holding onto that reassuring smile, even as his chest ached. "I mean it. You should never feel pressured about this."
She gave him a small, grateful nod, then stood up, her legs feeling shaky. "I should go," she said, almost to herself.
He got to his feet, stepping back to give her space. "Take care, Yuri," he said quietly, his voice filled with a mix of hope and resignation.
Yuri hesitated for a moment at the door, then with one last glance at him, she turned and left his room, closing the door softly behind her. As she walked away, her mind was still a whirlwind of confusion, but she knew she needed to figure out her feelings-before she could give him an answer.
Inside the room, he stood still, staring at the door where she had just been. The smile faded from his face, replaced by a look of quiet pain. But even in that moment, he understood that he had to let her find her own way, no matter how much it hurt because this time he wasn't going to hurt her that' what he promised himself.
As Yuri reached her room, she felt the need for some fresh air to clear her mind from everything that had happened that day. Stepping out onto the balcony, she inhaled deeply, hoping the cool night air would help settle her thoughts. She leaned against the railing, staring out, her mind still a whirlwind.
She sighed and was about to head back inside when her eyes caught sight of Jeonghan, Joshua, Mingyu, and Dino standing outside, engaged in a conversation. She watched them quietly, her thoughts drifting back to the moments she had spent with each of them. To her surprise, as she reflected on those moments, only the good memories surfaced-times when they had made her laugh, comforted her, or simply been there for her.
But something bothered her. As she continued to observe them, she couldn't help but wonder why they never seemed to live like normal people. Why didn't they smile at each other the way they smiled at her? Why was there always an underlying tension among them? She could see the subtle interactions between them, the small things that made her uneasy. Her heart always raced whenever they were around, a mix of excitement and apprehension.
