Ch 7, S 1.
3rd POV :
"So that's your village." Rimuru commented as it hop'ed beside the Goblins into what it could only assume was their so-called village. So that's a village huh? Really different from its birth cave.
"Yes it is, Rimuru-sama. I'm sorry for the rudimentary conditions of our village but it's unfortunately the most we can afford with our capabilities." The Goblin with what it called a bandana on its head said.
"Rudimentary?" Rimuru asked, was their village not good? Well it's not as if it would know what the standard for a village is anyway. It seemed great for its point of view. They have a roof and a forest. Isn't that everything needed to live?
"Yes, we are more and more scarce in our food reserve and we are scared to go hunting because of the Direwolves. Not counting the poor states of our homes." The Goblin stated sadly as it looked at the houses. "I can understand that as a slime. Rimuru-sama isn't bound by hunger, thirst or by the weather so you will not understand. However we on the other hand are dependent on these conditions to survive."
". . .I see." Rimuru said after a moment of pause. It could make sense in a way. Rimuru doesn't depend on much things
Rimuru and the bandana-wearing Goblin walked towards an old hut where another Goblin was waiting for them, sitting cross legs with something steaming put beside it.
"Father, we have arrived with a very important guest." The bandana-wearing Goblin said to the sitting Goblin.
"Oh? I see. Is this the powerful monster we sensed?" The sitting Goblin picked up the object beside it and directed it towards its mouth?
"Yes father, we encountered this slime named Rimuru Tempest on our way from the village. Rimuru-sama claimed to be the child and successor of Lord Veldora-sama himself and that it would take the forest as its new home." The bandana-wearing Goblin explained.
The sitting Goblin nodded as it took another sip of its beverage before the information registered into its head and it spewed it out in pure shock. "WHAT?!" It immediately dropped its cup and bowed with its head against the ground. "This is a great surprise and honor to meet you, O child of Lord Veldora-sama! No, Rimuru-sama! Please excuse the poor state of our welcome committee..."
Rimuru and the bandana-wearing Goblin looked at each other and Rimuru looked back at the bowing Goblin and spoke. "It's fine. I don't really need that much to be satisfied anyway. Your village is the first I came across since I was born so it seems fine to me."
The bowing Goblin took a brief sigh of relief and raised its head slightly, thankful that their new Lord wasn't mad at them. "You are way too humble for us, O Rimuru-sama. Unfortunately I want to warn you that we risk not having any villages left for you to inhabit soon. You see, one month earlier, our God Veldora-sama who protected our humble forest disappeared suddenly. This caused many monsters to desire his territory for themselves. This is where the Direwolves come in. They are way too powerful for us to fight. Even with 10 vs 1."
'The Direwolves, huh?' Rimuru thought. 'Well, it's Papa's territory, not the Direwolves. If they want it, they will have to pass through me.'
"Well as long as I, Rimuru Tempest, is in this forest, no one has the right to claim it but me!" Rimuru huffed. No way some Direwolves will steal Papa's territory.
"Does that mean you will protect us?" The bowing Goblin uttered in disbelief and hope.
"I mean, sure? My Papa is your God so it makes sense. It would be mad if I didn't care about its people." Rimuru shrugged. That would also mean it gets a free home if it gets rid of the Direwolves. Two hits in one stone. "As long as I can call this forest home then I have no problem with you Goblins."
