The sun shone down on Inkopolis Square. Tons of inkfish were spending their time in the sunny square, doing their typical activities. Some sat at the tables, basking in the attached umbrella's refreshing shade. Others were at the Galleria, getting their hands on the latest weapons and freshest gear.

To the left of the Shoal, where many cephalopods were playing various video games, was the Inkopolis News Studio. Inside sat Pearl Houzuki and Marina Ida of Off the Hook.

This famous pop idol duo was chatting away, just as they usually did in the studio. Right now, they were discussing some recent events.

"I still can't believe that move that Eight pulled the Tableturf Battle Tournament last night!" Pearl exclaimed, "I don't think anyone could have seen that Dynamo Roller placement coming."

Marina smiled with glee. "That was so cool! It was nice seeing her again. I don't think we've seen her since our tour ended."

The two smiled. They had been on a world tour with their musical partners Damp Socks for a while now, Eight had tagged along. It had been an incredible experience in many ways, but they were all glad to be back in Inkopolis.

They continued conversing, but they both couldn't help but notice something strange in the Square. Right in front of Deca Tower was a group of various sea creatures: Inklings, Octolings, jellyfish: you name it. In particular, Pearl and Marina could make out a slim sea-urchin seemingly leading the group.

This was a group of protestors. Some held signs. Others held banners. Some held nothing at all and only chanted.

"Jeesh, I wonder what happened," Marina remarked.

"Maybe Sheldon put out another bad weapon again?"

The two laughed.

Just then, a jingle ran throughout the Square. Everyone's heads perked up. A flashy, tricolor animation played on the large screen of Deca Tower; it was Anarchy Splatcast time!

Pearl and Marina quickly took an interest. Anarchy Splatcast was run by Deep Cut, a new idol trio from the Splatlands who had exploded in popularity.

From Off the Hook dropping in on Deep Cut's concert, to Shiver and Frye taking them on in a heated rap battle, the 5 had become excellent friends.

"Listen up! It's going down..." Shiver began. The audio was clear and loud throughout the Square.

"Repping the Splatlands, we are DEEP CUT!"

"Anarchy Splatcast! We're live!" Frye exclaimed with a bright smile.

"Ay! (Here we go!)" Big Man chimed in.

The protestors all stopped. They were frustrated by everyone paying attention to the Splatcast and not them.

So, they raised their voices and chants. By a lot.

The chants quickly started to wash out the audio of the Splatcast, much to the annoyance of many people in the Square. Especially Pearl.

"Ugh! I can't hear the TV over these people!" She said, irritation in her voice. "What happened to this studio being soundproof?"

Marina shifted in her seat. "We've had this studio for almost 7 years... of course it's getting weaker."

As Pearl leaned back in her chair, visibly annoyed, Marina giggled. "Don't worry Pearlie, it's only one Splatcast. It's not like it's the final one!"

Pearl's annoyed expression faded. "You're right, Rina. It's not that big of a deal."

"Not to mention, they'll probably move somewhere else eventually," Marina smiled, "Right?"
