"Where will we go from here?"
The table sat quiet for a brief moment as everyone thought over Nerida's words. Where would they go from here?
Marina was the first to speak. "Well... we know we're starting with the ship repairs. Me and Octavio tried to look for supplies at Fresh Buys, but no luck."
"Speaking of which... I have an idea, but I doubt you all will like it." Octavio spoke, looking at Sinkin' Treasure.
"I know we agreed to start with the ship, but I think we'll need to do the mech first."
"What?!"
Cordelia angrily stood up. "We made an agreement! You can't just go back on it."
"Exactly! You're in debt to us, you follow what we say!" Serena added.
"Hey! Hey! Calm down!" Nerida commanded. "I'm not a fan of this either, but let's at least listen."
"If we repair the mech first, fixing up the ship will be much easier. We could just fly to transport the materials, gya-ha!"
"He has a point! I know you'd complain about hauling planks back and forth on the snowmobiles, Serena." Uira giggled.
"Hey now, you'd do the same."
Nerida pondered Octavio's words. "Alright... we'll start with the mech," she nodded, "We better get it done quick though, we need the ship back."
The rest of Sinkin' Treasure nodded in agreement.
"I'm glad we got that settled. You think we could talk about the shopkeepers now? Crystalline is BONKERS." Pearl stated.
"You wouldn't even know the half of it!" Cordelia began.
The icy waves of the distant ocean calmly drifted as they chatted and waited for their food.
The door to Kelpie's jingled as the group exited.
"That was seriously the best food I've ever had! The Crust Bucket wouldn't stand a chance!" Pearl exclaimed.
"Not to mention, your dad was awesome, Cordelia," Diade smiled.
Veronika looked up at the sky. It was a beautiful shade of swirling pinks, oranges, and lilacs.
"I guess we should get you folks to a hotel. No offense, but we don't want ya sleeping in the warehouse with us." Nerida said.
"I'm too tired to be offended anyway." Marina shrugged.
"Can we take the snowmobiles again?" Veronika enthusiastically questioned. "Nah, it's too far to Downtown Splatundra. We'll use Serena's truck."
"You have a truck?" Octavio asked, turning to Serena. "Yes, but I hate using it. I'd rather sail any day."
After a quick stop to the mech's crash site to retrieve their belongings, the group was now headed to Downtown Splatundra. There had been no road, so they were driving across the snow - it was a rocky ride. Sinkin' Treasure had sat in the comfort of the truck, while the others were forced to sit in the truck's cargo bed.
"Slow down! Us AND our luggage are gonna fly out!" Pearl yelled, hiding in her swim form.
"Is this even legal?" Diade yelped, clutching their luggage. "Last time I checked, it was," Serena called from the driver's seat, "... I think."
The truck finally pulled into a proper road, much to the six's relief. Downtown Splatundra was similar to the Square, except with considerably more buildings. Smallfry admired a particularly tall building with a clam shell logo. Its modern build and sleek design stuck out from the older and worn-out buildings surrounding it - like a gem in a pile of dirt.
