THE SUNRISE

CHAPTER FIVE

               "Tope I absolutely don't appreciate the fact that I'm using
my lunch break to come to the library". Tomiwa mumbled as Tope looked at all the books in astonishment.

            "Just this once. And besides if I had known my way here I won't have pleaded with you to come along". Tope whispered back.
 
             "Pick a book already" Tomiwa urged.

             "There is just a lot of them, I'm confused". Topes eyes went fast looking at the novels in the fiction Part of the library.

           "Tope pick a book, sign out and let's go have lunch".

           "Can I take it home" Tope asked.

          "Of course, then you return it in two days time. If you misplace,or damage it, you get to pay for it". Tomiwa explained impatiently.  "Now will you just pick a book and let's go"?.

            "Alright......... alright..... I think I'll like this one. Let's go before you kill me". Tope replied smiling.

           " A long Fatal Love Chase". Tomiwa said, calling out the name of the book. They went over to the Liberia's table to sign out the book.

            "Bring it back on Monday since today is Friday. And please return the book back in the same state and condition you took it".  The Liberian instructed handling the book back to Tope after signing it out.

          "Yes ma I will. Thank you". Tope replied, putting the book into her bag.  "But ma what if I'm done with the book before the usual time"?. Tope asked.

            "That's okay. You can return and take another one". The Liberian replied.

            "Now we've missed lunch" Tomiwa grumbled as the bell rang just as they came out the library door.

             "I'm so sorry Tomiwa. Sorry". Tope apologized genuinely.

          "It's alright. Now it's your turn to come with me". Tomiwa chuckled walking down the hall.

          "Where are we going"?. Tope questioned following her.

            "To buy lunch". Tomiwa replied.

              "from"?. Tope asked Curt.

           "The snacks store". Tomiwa replied.

       They took a right turn, and walked a few minutes before arriving at the shop, that to Topes disbelief looks like a mini shopping mall.

             "Why would they sell snacks if the school provides lunch"?. Tope asked as she looked around in disbelief.

              "Well velecditorian,   people who doesn't want to eat cooked meals or like me missed lunch because of a nerd friend has to buy snacks as lunch, so the
school provided the snack store" Tomiwa replied as they walked to the cashier to pay, after purchasing their snacks of minerals, two chocolate wafer biscuits and two meat pie.

          "That is one thousand five ninty". The cashier calculated and Tomiwa paid.

            "Here you go". Tomiwa said handing Tope one Fanta and the two chocolate wafer biscuits.

           "You didn't have to". Tope said, rejecting the offer.

              "You also did not have lunch Tope, take it". Tomiwa urged.

           "Thank you". Tope said as she accepted the snacks. "So you don't eat biscuit"?.

             "I do I just wanted to eat something with more weight or do you want the meat pie"?. Tomiwa asked uncapping her Fanta.

             "No I'm okay with the biscuits and Fanta. Thank you". They talked as they walked to class. When they arrived they where already late for biology class, they greeted the teacher and walked into the class. Tope went to her sit and kept the snacks in her bag with the intention of sharing it with her brother.

              "Tope give me your home address". Tomiwa reminded at the close of school.

              "I've already written it but forgot to give you". Tope smiled handing Tomiwa a piece of paper with her address written on it.

             "My driver will come by nine". Tomiwa said as they walked out of the class. "Hope you'll make me a very pretty style"?. Tomiwa asked teasingly.

             "Why not?. Thank you once again for the snacks and for taking me to the library. I really appreciate it". Tope said giving Tomiwa a hug.

          "No probs. Bye". Tomiwa said. "Let me drop you off". She offered.

              "No...........no......... I'm not going home yet. I want to pick something up before going home". Tope lied. "Bye........." She waved as Tomiwa stepped into her car and her driver drove off.

        Short chapter, I know and I apologise about it. Promise to drop the next chapter in a jiffy.

      Also I wanna apologise for the late update. I've been to distracted reading, but can you blame me. Don't hate me, books are just so.....s....o...... mesmerizing 😭😭.
        I read loads of cool books.

FYI the book A LONG FATAL LOVE CHASE is a hard copy book. I totally recommend it. So splendid 👍.
