THIS CHAPTER TAKES PLACE DURING THE FIRST BATTLE TRAINING

Man, watching your best friends attempting murder on each other is certainly a completely normal and not at all nerve-wracking way to spend your afternoon!

At long last, the first battle had ended and the ghost could finally breathe peacefully again.

Haha you thought 💀🫵 it's her turn now.

"Team B, it's time to head to your building! The buzzer will let you know when you're free to enter!"

As always, a Loud Blond was the first thing she heard when she snapped out of her thoughts, courtesy of a warm hand firmly touching her shoulder.

After a second of appreciating the comfort of physical contact that seemed to linger a bit too long, the owner of said hand finally spoke.

"Hurry." Todoroki said simply, turning around to leave and reluctantly moving his hand back down to his side once [Name] finally looked at him.

"Oh- yeah. Sorry, I was spacing out." She apologized, being quick to follow behind him to get to their station.

Thankfully, the walk was short enough so they didn't have to endure an awkward silence for long. Or, at all, actually, since Todoroki was the one who actually initiated a conversation!

"...you seem to do that quite frequently."

"Huh?"

"Spacing out. getting lost in thought and never really listening to people, it's probably why you're so jumpy." He continued, rather bluntly.

"Wow, I guess I do." [Name] mumbled "Is it really that obvious?" She chuckled bashfully.

He paused for a moment, before nodding.

Was it actually noticeable? No, not really. Just a habit that's easily overlooked unless you're paying attention.

He was paying attention, though. For some reason, he just couldn't help himself but notice all of her cute little habits. Especially the way she was so quick to let her guard down around anyone who was kind to her, something he's definitely not used to. It's naive, he thinks, but adorable nonetheless.

He wasn't quite sure why he was so fascinated. He's known her for a day, by god, why was his heart beating so fast? He's never had a crush before. How sweet.

"Hero team, your time starts now." Their teacher informed, an obnoxious buzzer accompanying his words.

Todoroki hummed in acknowledgment. "Stand back." He instructed, simply stepping up to the building and placing his hand on the wall.

It froze over in an instant, the sudden temperature drop enough to make the ghost shudder.

"I'm sure our opponents intend to fight a defensive battle, but we've already won."

[Name] crossed her arms, her costume unfortunately not doing much to keep her warm.

"I'll go find the bomb." She offered, taking no time to phase, which doing so thankfully blocked out the cold, and start traversing through the many different rooms.

She eventually found the room on the fourth floor, noting that Shoji was the one who was meant to be guarding it, though he was frozen to the floor by his shoes.

She unphased quickly upon clearing the wall, breathing a sigh of relief as she approached the weapon.

She reached out to touch it when she was suddenly tackled to the ground, courtesy of the very strong boy who was meant to be out of commission.
