Penny pov:
"I cant believe I'm spending my birthday like this. I thought for sure I'd be back to normal size by now." I said to Amy from the kitchen table while she decorated the kitchen.

"Me too. But I'm really excited for you to open your present." Amy said with a look of excitement.

"You got me a present?" I asked excitedly.

"Of course I got you a present. You're so cute when you're excited, your eyes light up like a Christmas tree." Amy said as she lightly patted my head with her finger.

"Shut up." I said. I glared at her and it made her giggle.

"Gemma and Kamal will be here soon with pizza and chocolate cake, your favorite." Amy announced, making me smile.

A few moments later, Kamal and Gemma arrived with pizza and cake. We enjoyed the pizza and then Gemma put candles in the cake that was sitting on the counter. Then she lit the candles with a lighter.

Amy held her hand out for me, inviting me to climb on. Gemma turned around with the cake, candles lit, and they all sang happy birthday to me. I blushed with slight embarrassment. Gemma set the cake on the kitchen table, and Amy held me close to the candle. I leaned forward against her fingers and blew out the flame with much more effort than I thought it would take.

With Kamal and Gemma clapping and cheering, Amy gently set me back down on the table. I was slightly out of breath, but proud of myself. I shared a slice of cake with Amy and started to feel very full.

"So, how old are you now, Penny?" Kamal asked.

"Twenty-six." I replied. Gemma put all the dishes in the sink, while Amy left the room and came back with a large gift.

"Look at that present! It's bigger than me!" I exclaimed.

"Well, it doesn't take much." Gemma snickered. Amy set the present in front of me on the table.

"Happy Birthday, Penny! I love you and I hope you like your present." Amy happily said. I approached the present and then looked to Amy. "What are you waiting for? Open it." She added with excitement.

The three girls watched me as I grabbed a fist full of wrapping paper and tore it open. I struggled to unwrap all the paper off, so Amy helped me. The gift appeared to be a remote controlled car. Amy took it out of the box, set the box aside and placed the car in front of me. The car was a black two-seater with tinted windows.

"You got me a car?!" I questioned with excitement and a bit of confusion.

"Yes. But instead of having a remote, I had it altered so the controls are built right into the steering wheel. It's almost like you would be driving a regular car. Look." Amy explained as she gently opened the car door with her giant fingers and pointed at the steering wheel.

"Holy shit! How?!" I asked in surprise.

"Kamal knows a guy." Amy responded.

"My brother's friend does this sort of thing all the time, so we got him to help us." Kamal explained. I put my hands on my cheeks as I was totally flabbergasted.

"That must have cost a fortune!" I yelled in shock.

"Not really. We got a discount, and Amy and I went halfsies on it." Kamal said.

"Oh, and there's also a charging port in the trunk. It just plugs into the wall." Amy informed me.

"Wow. Thank you guys so much! Y'all are the best friends a girl could ask for." I said. In that moment, I was so happy that words couldn't even describe it.

"We knew that you've been struggling, so we wanted to do something special for you. This way, you can get around the apartment faster and more freely, and it would be easier for me to see you." Amy explained. I sat inside the car and closed the door. I pressed the window button and the driver's side window slid down.

"No way! Working power windows?!" I squealed.

"Yep!" Amy replied. I looked at the steering wheel and saw all the buttons and controls were labelled. I took a moment to study where each button was located to try to memorize it.

"I wonder how fast this thing can go." I said right before I accelerated. Amy gasped and tried to stop me. She quickly reached out with both hands to grab the front and back bumpers. The abrupt stop was like crashing into a wall, but with no damage. It caused me to thrust forward a bit and I accidentally honked the horn.

"Easy there, tiger. Let's put the car on the floor first so you don't drive off the table." Amy said. She carefully lifted the car so I was eye level to her. She looked at me through the driver's side window that was down.

"Sorry, I got a little excited." I admitted. I heard Kamal and Gemma giggling.

"Be careful, okay? And put your seatbelt on. I want you to be safe." Amy mothered me.

"Yes, ma'am." I said in response. I did as I was told, surprised about the fact that the seatbelt actually functions, too.

Amy slowly lowered the car to the ground and it made my stomach drop. I was relieved when the car was finally on the ground. Amy slowly removed her hands from the car. I carefully accelerated and drove out of the kitchen. I made a U-turn and drove back, stopping infront of Amy. She knelt down to talk to me through the window.

"Are you having fun? Do you like it?" Amy asked.

"I love it so much! I can't believe you got me a freaking car! I'm so happy!" I said, then continued driving.

I practiced reversing, braking and turning. I drove around the apartment for a while. The car was surprisingly fast. Then I shrieked in fear when Gemma stepped in front of the car by accident. I was able to stop in time, but Gemma winced in panic.

"Sorry, Penny!" Gemma exclaimed as she carefully walked by, stepping over the car.

"No problem." I subtlety replied. I took a deep breath and continued to drive around.

I was getting used to the controls and getting better at maneuvering the car. This car, combined with the ladders all around the apartment, is going to make my life so much easier. This was the happiest I'd been in a long time, and I was truly thankful to my three best friends.
