The morning air was fresh, and the sunlight filtered softly through the tall windows of Amrutha’s family home.

The smell of freshly brewed tea blew  from the kitchen as Amrutha sat at the dining table, excitedly flipping through the pages of her upcoming film’s script. Her mother, Bhavani, was nearby, arranging the dining table, while her father, Jayesh, was getting ready in the next room.

Today was supposed to be special.

Amrutha had a screen test for a major film — one she had been dreaming about for months.

It was an important day, and she wanted everything to go smoothly. But her excitement was soon interrupted by the sound of raised voices.

Bhavani and Jayesh were arguing. Again.

From the doorway, Amrutha glanced toward the living room where her parents stood, locked in a tense conversation.

“I’m telling you, Jayesh,” Bhavani said firmly, her arms crossed over her chest, “I’m not coming to that wedding. You go if you want, but I’m staying here.”

“Why?” Jayesh asked, frustration in his voice. “It’s a family event, Bhavani. People will talk if we don’t attend together.”

Bhavani shook her head. “Let them talk. I don’t care. You know why I can’t go.”

Amrutha’s heart sank as she watched the argument unfold. She had been looking forward to the wedding — a chance to celebrate, to forget about the industry drama, and to spend time with her parents. But seeing Bhavani and Jayesh fighting like this, her excitement dropped to level zero.

She wanted to say something, to step in and ease the tension, but she knew better. Her parents had been having these arguments more frequently, and it was clear that this wasn’t a simple disagreement.

It ran deeper than that.

Amrutha sighed softly, deciding not to get involved. She quietly slipped out of the room and gathered her things. She had a long day ahead, and she didn’t want to carry the weight of her parents’ conflict with her.

As she headed to the film set for her screen test, she tried to push the argument out of her mind. Today was important — a chance to prove herself once again. She couldn’t let anything distract her.

The set was buzzing with energy when Amrutha arrived. Assistants rushed back and forth, setting up equipment, adjusting lights, and preparing the stage for the test. Amrutha had been given a important role in the upcoming movie, and today was her chance to show the director what she could do.

She stepped into her dressing room and slipped into her costume — a stunning red saree that flowed around her like a river of silk. The moment she put it on, she felt a shift in herself. The fabric clung to her in all the right places, making her feel both powerful and elegant. She adjusted her hair, letting it fall softly over her shoulders, and applied the final touches of her makeup.

As she stood in front of the mirror, Amrutha couldn’t help but admire her reflection. She felt ready. This was her moment.

Virat had been shooting a scene in a nearby studio when he overheard that Amrutha would be taking her screen test in the next set. His curiosity was hyped. He had heard the buzz around her performance, and despite his comments on her acting skills, part of him wanted to see if she was really as good as people said.

But his ego wouldn’t allow him to admit that, of course. Instead, he convinced himself that he was simply there to “check out his enemy.”

He finished his scene quickly and turned to the director, a sly grin on his face. “I hear Amrutha’s taking a screen test next door. Mind if I join in?”
