Virat sat across from Sana at a high-end restaurant, his mind far away from their dinner conversation.

He was thinking about Paris—those quiet moments under the Eiffel Tower with Amrutha.

The memory of her body brushing against his, the electric jolt he had felt when she stood so close to him, lingered in his thoughts. He hadn’t been able to shake off how her presence had affected him, how comfortable it had felt, almost natural.

He didn't expect that side of Amrutha, and it was stirring feelings he didn’t know he had for her.

Sana, noticing the distant look in his eyes, reached out and touched his hand, snapping him back to reality. “Virat, are you even listening?” she asked with a small pout, her voice carrying a hint of annoyance.

He blinked and shook his head slightly, offering her a weak smile. “Yeah, yeah. Sorry. Just distracted.” He sighed and tried to focus on her, though his mind kept drifting back to Amrutha.

Sana gave him a suspicious look but didn’t push it further. “I was saying, why don’t we go shopping tomorrow? I need to update my wardrobe, and you promised we’d spend more time together,” she said, her tone softer now, almost pleading.

Virat barely nodded, “Sure, we’ll go shopping,” he muttered, though his enthusiasm was clearly lacking.

Just then, his phone rang, and he was relieved for the distraction. He picked it up and saw it was the director calling. “Excuse me for a moment,” he told Sana, stepping away from the table to take the call.

The director sounded happy. “Virat! I’ve got a new movie lined up for you. Great script, perfect role. Can you come by the office tomorrow? We’ll go over everything.”

Virat agreed quickly but didn’t ask many questions. “Yeah, I’ll come by. We can talk about it then,” he said, not particularly curious about the details just yet.

He was too preoccupied with his muddled thoughts about Amrutha.

He figured he’d make a decision once he heard the full details at the office.

Sana had overheard the conversation when he returned to the table. Her eyes gleamed with excitement. “Virat, why don’t you tell the director about me? You know, we’re already a couple, and if I’m the lead actress, it’ll get even more attention from the fans. Think about it—it could be huge!”

Virat smiled half-heartedly, though there was a heaviness in his expression. “I’ll talk to him. Let’s see. I haven’t even decided if I’m doing the movie or not,” he replied, trying to reassure her.

Sana smiled and leaned in to hug him, her arms wrapped tightly around his shoulders. But Virat didn’t hug her back. His arms stayed by his sides, and he could feel the confusion swirling inside him.

Something wasn’t right, and he knew it. He wasn’t as comfortable with the hug even though he knew this relationship is temporary. The closeness he had with her now felt hollow, like they were just playing a role for the cameras and their fans.

Sana pulled away slightly, her eyes narrowing as she sensed his distance. She knew something had changed.

Social media had been flooded with pictures of him and Amrutha from Paris, and she had seen the way fans were reacting—tagging them in posts, making edits, talking about how good they looked together.

The chemistry was undeniable, and it bothered her more than she let on.

Her smile faltered, but she forced it back, thinking quickly. She couldn’t let this happen.
