I did not see this coming, shocked couldn't even describe the feeling I had. I guess I should have seen the signs, I met both at the diner. Also Lorelei mentioned her son owned a shop, after I learned Axel owned his own. I just didn't put two and two together.

"Yes, we've met before haven't we Jocelyn? Ma, this is the woman who ran over my bike."

Blushing from embarrassment, I look down at me feet. Hearing Loreli's gasp I look up at her.

"Oh I had know idea, what a small world."

Looking at the small smile on her face, and tiny glimpse of mischief in her eyes. I had a feeling she definitely had a "idea".

" Well Olivia come with me darling, you can help me finish dinner. Axel, help Jocelyn set the table please."

Before I could disagree, she whisked Olivia into the kitchen. While setting out the plates, I feel him watching me.
"Not to be rude, but do you and your friend make it habbit to stare at people?"

He looked a bit shocked I said that, hell I shocked myself.

"Sorry Darling, just trying to figure you out."

"Why? We'll be gone by tomorrow evening."

"Hmm, you think so?"

Before I could ask him what he meant, Oliva and Lorelei brought out dinner. Smelling the first home cooked meal we've had in ages, my stomach growls in anticipation.

"Well help yourselves, don't be shy. Especially around Axel, my boy can eat."

Looking over at Olivia I see she's already stacked her plate full of the delicious smelling pasta, and bread sticks. Knowing she's feeling a bit comfortable here, makes me relax a bit. Only a bit tho, I don't think I could ever fully relax again.

"So Jocelyn, Axel will look at your car in the morning. Hopefully he will be able to fix it."

"Thank you so much, but like I've said I have no money."

That's when Axel decided to speak up.

"Mom has told me a bit about your money situation, I'm willing to fix the car. You can work at mom's diner till you can pay off the bill."

Feeling speechless, I just stare at both of them. I don't know how I feel about his offer, I mean it's not like I have any other options. I dont have money for two bus tickets, I barely have gas money for the car. Before I can fully wrap my head around the idea, Oliva surprises us again, by answering for me.

"We'll take you up on that offer."
