ALORA'S POV:-

"Okayy. Now here's your after-dinner pills" I chanted as I handed over some red and white pills to dad.

He was sitting behind his desk in his office room, with a laptop in front and a pile of documents spread across the table. The number of documents in this desk is giving me a headache just by looking at it. I wonder how dad and Enzo, both manages to handle all of this boring paperworks.

Dad started to work on his unfinished businesses as soon as he arrived home. With an excuse that he can't delay his work any further, or his clients will have to face twice the trouble they already bore.

He turned his chair sideways to face me. "Thank you, butterfly" he smiled, taking the pills from my hand. I passed him a glass of water and waited by his side for him to take the medicines.

After gulping down the meds with water, he handed me the now empty glass.

"Good job" I praised with a proud smile.

I raised my eyebrow in a questioning manner when I  found him staring at me for too long. "What?" I asked  confused.

He just smiled and held my hand with his. He kissed the back of it with a satisfied grin. "I am just happy to see you here, with us. It feels nostalgic to see you nagging me for my meds again. I never thought that the little girl who used to toddle around the house by holding my hand would grow up so big, and also marry so soon"

It made me smile wistfully. I hugged him sideways. "But I am still your little girl, just a bit tall nothing else. And I am also happy to be with you guys after such a long time. I missed spending time with you" I breathed out in relief as I stepped back, breaking the heart warming embrace.

"I am glad that you are going to stay here for a few days. I can stay assured now that you are by my side. If that bastard didn't had let you stay here I would have shot him with my gun right then and there"

I chuckled.

"Yeah don't worry. I would have supported you if you did that. But for now, enough of this chit-chats" I grabbed the handle of his wheel chair. "You need to rest now. The doctor didn't discharged you from the hospital just so you could exhaust yourself back to the hospital"

"But I have just a little bit of work to finish. It will be done in a second" he tried to convince, but I am never buying it.

"Yeah yeah. I know very nicely what your 'little work' means. I know you will stay up till midnight if I let you have your ways" I rolled my eyes.

His face dropped in disappointment. Dad literally looks more like a child than me when he starts whining for something. His defeated look made me quietly snicker. "Okay fine. You can work just a little longer, no more than ten minutes. I will cut some fruits for you in the meanwhile"

He beamed hearing me. "Sounds perfect to me" he claimed in satisfaction.

A smile stretched up to my lips seeing his giddy smile. There are only two things which make dad happy. One is family and the other is work. He loves his family as much as he loves his work. All this years he always insured to separate his professional and personal life with a thick line. If he did overtime sometimes, he would make sure to spend more time with us the next day. And that's what I like about him, no matter how much burdened he remains with work, he will never neglect his family.

Leaving him in his office, I walked to the kitchen to slice some fruits for him.

I saw mom cleaning up the kitchen after dinner. I took a kiwi, pineapple and some strawberries from the fruit basket and proceeded to slice them into small cubes after washing them.
