"Delilah!" Darren called after me, as I walked away.
I ignored him and kept on walking but stopped when I got to the elevators, and spun around to find he was still behind me. "What."
"Look, I just want you to be safe alright, it's better if you stay with me and Mam."
"At home? Where Dad could just wander in?" I question, my eyebrow raised. "I'll take my chances somewhere else."
"Delilah.."
"No, Darren. Look I know you want to help and all, but you can't just come back here and start controlling my life."
He goes to say something but stops when Patrick appears and walks towards me and ignores Darren. "Aspen can pick us up if you want to come back to mine."
"No, she isn't going anywhere."
"No offense." Patrick mutters, turning his head to look at Darren. "But last time I checked, Delilah has her own voice."
Darren scowls at Patrick before looking back at me. "We're going home, seriously Delilah- this is a family matter, your friend has nothing to do with this."
"For the last time, I am not going home!" I exclaimed, turning around and pressing the down arrow button, "Not until Shannon and Joey are at home."
The elevator doors open, and I gesture for Patrick to come in with me, once he gets the memo he hurries inside and then the door closes leaving Darren looking pissed with his arms crossed.
I press the first floor button and then the elevator starts moving, which we ride in silence until we sit down beside each other on the waiting room chairs.
"Do you want to go back to my house?" Patrick asks, after a couple more minutes of silence.
I shake my head, "I want to check on Shan and Joey once more before leaving, but I just want to wait a while because I would rather not run into Mam or Darren again."
"Okay, do you want to go get something to eat? I only saw you eat half of your breakfast this morning."
"Oh, no." I shake my head, "I'm not hungry."
Patrick stares at me for a few seconds, before standing up, and pulling me up by my hands. "Well I am, so I'll call Aspen and she can take us somewhere for lunch, alright?"
"Are you sure? I can't pay you or anything.." I mumble as we head towards the entrance.
"Del, when have I ever made you pay for anything? And plus, I wouldn't make you pay anyways, Kaelin raised me better."
Yeah, he had a point.
"Alright but one of these days I'll pay you back."
"You can try." He shrugged, before pulling out his phone. "I'm gonna call Aspen now."
Fifteen minutes later, Aspen arrives at the hospital and she drives us to the pub by their house and we get a table for three.
"So, Delilah. You first met Patrick at the hospital right?" Aspen asks once we've settled down with our food and drink, she got a chicken fillet roll, which Patrick and I are sharing a large portion of chips.
"Aspen." Patrick groans, but his sister waves him off. "I'm allowed to ask questions."
"Yeah, that was the first time we met-Kaelin introduced us." I answer her question, and she nods, "And last I heard you two like each right?"
Patrick and I share a look and I feel my cheeks turn pink as I nod. "Yeah, well I like him."
"And I like her."
"Aw." Aspen grins, "So are you guys together?"
"No." Patrick answered, "Not yet anyway."
Aspen goes to say something but her phone starts buzzing from the table, and she picks it up then excuses herself quickly.
"Sorry about her, I bet you would've preferred it was just us."
"Honestly, I like Aspen." I say truthfully, "I like all your sisters, even though Kaelin can be a bit over the top sometimes.,I mean when she was doing my makeup she literally told me how you used to always want to sleep in her bed, because you were scared of dark-and how this one time you peed-"
"No. Please don't tell me anything else." Patrick cuts me off and I laugh. "I am going to kill Kaelin, I'll be on the news for murder tomorrow."
"Don't be mean, Kaelin is a good sister."
"An annoying sister." He corrects, then kisses me on my lips before saying he has to go to the bathroom, and once he's gone, I'm alone.
But not for long, because I hear someone sit down, and when I look up to my surprise Nicholas is sitting across from me. "You literally disappeared from the face of the earth, what happened to you?!"
"I wasn't at school for three days, I didn't die. What are you doing here?"
"Long story." He shrugs, and I wait for him to explain, but he doesn't, so I change the subject. "Have I missed much at school?" I ask, moving the bag of chips over to him and he takes a few. "I heard that Aoife is pregnant with your brother's kid. Did you hear that?"
"Oh yeah, who did you hear it from?"
"Paul Rice." He says, talking about Aoife's ex boyfriend. I roll my eyes, "I don't know why she ever dated that asshole."
"Tell me about it, he hooked up with so many girls while they were tougher."
"Delilah." I hear, and turn my head to see Patrick staring at Nicholas, heat blazing in his blue eyes.
"Oh." I say, "Right, Nicholas, Patrick, Patrick, Nicholas." I introduce, but Patrick doesn't stop glaring at the boy across from me who's in the middle of eating a Chip.
"It's great to see you again." Nicholas says, once he's finished chewing, Patrick sits down beside me and puts his arm around my shoulder. "Why are you here?"
"Because Delilah and I are friends, and plus she was sitting alone." Nicholas explains, which only makes Patricks jaw clench. "Well she's not alone anymore, so bye."
"Yeah, yeah I'm leaving." Nichols rolls his eyes before sliding out of the booth, "See you at school, Delilah."
"Bye, Nicholas." I wave, and he winks at me knowing that Patrick is watching, then he disappears around the corner, and I start laughing. "And you called me jealous just yesterday."
"Oh, cop on. That was my first time ever talking to Lily, you're friends with that prick."
"Exactly we're friends, you have nothing to worry about, Patrick." I smirk, using his words he used on me.
"Bullshit." Patrick scoffs, "See you at school, Delilah." He mocks, "And he literally winked at you."
"I don't like him like that, I may be his friend, but I like rugby boys more." I smile, kissing his cheek.
"Me, you like me. Not any other rugby boys." He corrects, and I laugh again. "Whatever you say, Mr Jealous."
