did i mention how terrified i am?

without the comfort and encouragement of my friends, family, and you,

i realize i'm a total wreck.

alright, i silently reprimand myself,

first day. try not to screw everything up.

i take a deep breath.

hallways, cafeteria, classrooms.

crowded crowded crowded.

everywhere i see and everywhere i go.

people people people.

whether mingling around the lockers or snacking on a chocolate bar,

they all looked carelessly happy

while me,

forcing smiles and barely

turning the edges of my lips up

to form a smile.

i miss you.

i want to hear your laughter.

lighting up the room with your angelic smile.
