Lindel told me about the art of magic and all sorts of things, he showed to Elias as well. Later on, his familiar Selkie and I went out to collect fire wood and fish for our next supper. It was obvious who took care of the fishing part, as it jumped into the water in joy, throwing one fish out after another. Nearby, I found enough firewood, piling it up, tying them together and throw it over my shoulder.

"Selkie, how far are you with the fish?!" I yelled over to the seal like fairy. It caught a dozen of fish, way too much for us all. Until I had an idea "Selkie, you love fish don't you?" It smiled jumping around me "Of course I do!" "Why don't you ask your friends to join us, since we have enough food for everyone", why wasting all the good food?

We told Lindel about this idea and he seems to like it. "That's a good idea N/A. How about you get some berries for dessert" he suggested, taking the firewood of my shoulder. "Sure, sounds good" "And I get my friends to help us!" announced Selkie leaving us alone.

"N/A?"

I looked over to the ancient mage, smiling, "Do you like it here?"

"I love it!"

He liked my answer, as he came towards me, holding my hands "If you want, you could stay here." "Oh Lindel...I don't think I can do that." I didn't have to explain it, as only one word made it clear.

We both said it togehter, "Elias."

"Yeah...by the way, where do I get some berries around here?" I didn't like this discussion and rather change it to the previous task. He pointed towards the lake "On the other side are the best berries in the land of dragons...I just hope that the hatchlings didn't eat them all." "I'll have a look though, see you later." I could have sworn that Lindel wanted to ask me...something important. However, I did not want to hear it, afraid of what he might have to say...I didn't want to spoil things here, especially not with Lindel. He became like an older brother to me, I began to love and care for.

In the mean time, I reached the bushes, but there were hardly any berries left. I had to look very close to spot a few. I managed to get a little bowl full; maybe Lindel can make something out of them...like a cake. While thinking of various ways to use them, a shadow went over me. At first I thought it was a dragon...would not be the first time... but this, was different and somehow familiar. Before me was a giant creature in black, with feathers a long tail, some long hair....over this skull with horns....

"Elias?" I asked a little surprised, as I never seen him in another form. But instead of answering me, he opened his mouth and grabbed on to me, like a tiger carries their cubs. That way, he went straight towards his old acquaintance. To my surprise, Lindel doesn't seem to be surprised at all, it was more the opposite "What took you so long?" he said towards Elias. He dropped me onto the floor, as he turned back to the form I know him. "Lindel, why didn't you send her home?" he asked, trying not to sound angry. "She wanted to stay longer, spending some time with me" as Lindel winked at me. He had hit a nerve there, Elias has lost it. He grabbed on to his friends collar and pulled him off the ground, "This is a warning Lindel, leave N/A alone!" The mage placed Lindel back onto the ground, before grabbing my hand, "She is my apprentice, not yours." Something in his voice made his friend suspicious, "Are you sure? I think she is more to you than just an apprentice."

Elias growled at him, getting his staff out.

In a matter of minutes, thorns surrounded us...transporting us back home. I bet if he had a little while longer, he would have killed Lindel. As for me, he didn't give me the time to greet anybody. He dragged me all the way up to his bed room and locked the door, saying that he will be with me shortly. I never seen him this angry before.

He kept his word, he came.

He unlocked the door and watched me, sitting on his bed. I pulled my legs towards me wrapping my arms around them and leaned my head on top. Behind the mage was Silky, with a plate of food. Elias waved at her "Silky, she won't get any food tonight." "Are you kidding me?! " I yelled, as my stomach complained with me. "It's your punishment for not coming home immediately!" "Sorry if I didn't have as much time making a staff, so I could fly back here...like Chise" I was angry now...probably because of all the hunger. But he stayed near the door, crossing his arms "Did you even make a staff?" "No?" "So why the need to stay longer?"

Oh no here it comes...he is jealous...once again!

The fight went on for hours; I am surprised that no one came to stop us. At the end, Elias slammed the door shut and left the house the very night. I just said, that I like Lindel...very much. What is so bad about that?

I knew he won't return till tomorrow morning, so I took my pillow and went over to Chise. I got concerned, as she sat on her bed, crying. I hugged her fast, her crying only got worse, "Hey, hey Chise. Don't cry." I looked at Ruth, who only shook his head at me...he knew why she was this way, but refused to tell me. It took me quite some time to get it out of her, since she is such a stubborn girl. She was afraid, that I might leave her alone or Elias might kill me by accident. She didn't want us to fight; she likes it when we get along. "Chise, I didn't mean to argue with Elias the whole time, but I really don't know why. He is jealous the whole time." I tried my best to keep it as honest, as possible. Chise was irritated "Jealous of whom?"

"Anyone!" I didn't know how else to describe it, "No matter who I talk to, he is always picking a fight with me."

"Maybe...he...loves you" said Chise with a weak smile.

"Don't be ridiculous, him...in love with me? Chise, he is your future husband, for crying out loud. He proposed to you, so he must be in love with you, not me", I was sure that I was right about that.

"It's just...I know this from my father. A man flirted with my mother at the playground and dad argued with her afterwards. She said it's because he loves her so much. I think that Elias loves us both."

Her story sounds convincing, but there was one thing that bothered me, "If he would love us both, like you said, then why is he always picking a fight with me? You are the youngest and his bride, he should yell at you more often than me."

At the end, we both sat there...with a question that needs to be answered, soon...
