Through the darkness, a small figure came towards me and the goddess. Something small...with red hair.
"Chise?"
The doves flew towards her, giving her enough light to see us.
"N\A, is that you?"
"As you can see. How did you get here?"
The young mage didn't answer,"It doesn't matter, I know how to defeat this creature."
Pleased to hear it, I waited for the answer.
"We have to destroy it from the inside."
My blank stare made it clear what I thought of it, "Duh! How exactly are we..." Suddenly,a loud scream came towards us. Blocking Chise, as something slashed my hip. Her and the goddess moved me aside, leaving a long trail of blood. The knight was out of control, unable to be stopped with words, like he was in trance. With the goddess hair, the bleeding could be stopped, but there was still this maniac to take care of. Worried I looked up to the young mage, "Any other plans to defeat him Chise?"
Her gaze wasn't directed at me, she seems to be more interested in the knight. She didn't move a single muscle while staring, but then...
"You are what you deny..."
"There is no time for riddles Chise!"
"No, don't you get it N\A?"
I couldn't help but glare at her, "How can I?! I am injured damn it!"
"So am I but that is not the point! He denies what he truly wants...he is suffering deep inside" expecting her to be finished, she turned towards me, "In fact, we all deny it."
"Care to explain it in simple English please?" Humor always distracted me from serious pain. The young mage sighted, "What is it that he wants?"
"Apparently peace, but then again, he doesn't. Same goes for light and magic. He even attacked me as I used a light spell."
Chise kneeled before us, "That is it. We all lost the same things...the light in our hearts... the natural magic in us and the most of all...to let go of hate."
Before I could protest, Chise interrupted, "You do deny it N\A, but it is there." Facing the goddess, the mage continued, "Even she denies it." I didnt see any reason of why it would help the knight to gain peace. The young mage explained, "we all have a burden we carry. Only together we can deal with our dark past. Lets show him that he can gain his freedom if only he lets it happen.""And how exactly?"
"By using the powers we were given by nature, together with a pure heart, free of hate and sorrow." She didn't only tell me this, but also to the goddess. She unwrapped her hair of my waist and nodded at Chise. He knight however, didn't care of what was going on, taking another aim at me. Only to get stopped by the goddess hands. She must have finally recovered from the previous fight. We all had to work together as a team, only that way, we can defeat the armour. With the power of the goddess, going through my body, Chise took a bit to cast a spell. The Knight came closer, at this distance, he could be able to decapitate all of us. Closing my eyes, I remembered all the hate i felt in the past...and then, to let it go. One memory at a time was rewritten into something positive. The more it happened, the brighter the light has come from Chise. With the power of the goddess, we only took half of her strength. It was more than enough to turn the knight into dust. One last time, he appeared as a ghost, thanking us. Finally he had the rest he always wanted.
But even from the outside, something happened.
The Wendigo screamed and shouted, before changing its appearance. A bright light surrounded the monster. As the light cleared, it wasn't human like anymore, but more and more what we know of this creature. It disappeared into the dark woods, heading of to the swamps. Oberon followed the creature, in hope that it goes back to where it came from. Titania healed the wounds from Elias, while he changed back and Ruth stood nearby, waiting anxiously. They all waited for us to be back. We were all near the lake, lying on our backs, laughing out loud. Finally, the nightmare was over.
To make it up to us, Titania offered everyone to come to the fairy kingdom, to see Shannon. It is the only thing she could do to the savour of all neighbors. Elias allowed it , since he didn't feel well either. Grabbing Chise and me over his shoulders, the goddess had left through the dark woods, leaving some ivy behind. It was her present to us. The queen chuckled at the gift, "It seems that your little birds have caught her trust. It is not common for a goddess to give out presents, normally it is the other way round."
"I don't care" said Elias, holding us tight, "I am just glad that I lost no one precious today." The amount of power we had used, we fell asleep right after the laugh attack. This was just too much for all of us.
