If this gets 25, I'll upload another chapter.

Late Monday Night. September 7th 2020

The sheer chaos of Monday Night Raw had finally faded as he pushed open the front door of his house. It had been one of those nights. Keith Lee had been a force to reckon with and had forced Y/N to exert his body, a few months ago picking up Keith Lee like he did tonight would have been impossible but with his newfound strength and bravado, it was all too easy, he just wished his night ended there.

Adam Pearce was a frustrating general manager, who Y/N once respected but now as his decisions became more boneheaded as he refused to listen to him and take him for his word, it was driving Y/N to a place he didn't want to go.

Sheamus a relentless brawler, and Drew McIntyre a mountain of power, both men future hall of famers who Y/N would now have to verse at Clash of Champions because of the ever-present headache that was Retribution. Being the WWE Champion was a dream, but tonight, it felt like a nightmare.

He shook his head off those thoughts as he remembered what he was doing it for, he knew stuff like this would happen, but when Y/N said he was going to stay for three years and leave he meant it.

The scent of pizza hit him like a welcome wave as he stepped inside. Barry and Luna were suddenly at his feet, tails whipping the air as he bent to pet them. He kicked off his sneakers, letting the day's weight begin to melt away, at least a little.

Y/N: Please don't just be pineapple, I'm begging.

He muttered, half to himself, half to the expectant dogs. The pineapple pizza debate was an ongoing, albeit one-sided, battle in their household with Rhea being on the side of pineapple on pizza.

He followed the aroma into the kitchen, the sight instantly drawing a smile to his face. Rhea, his girlfriend, was leaning against the counter, arms crossed, and a playful smirk playing on her lips. Her pregnancy glowed around her, a stark contrast to the exhaustion he felt. Rhea was looking much better than she did the previous week as the majority of the unpleasant symptoms of early pregnancy subsided but she was still the only girl that had captured his heart.

Rhea: Hey you.

She said, her voice a soothing melody after the screeching of the backstage area.

Y/N: Hey, how are you feeling?

He asked, his voice slightly rough from the night's yelling and exertion.

Rhea: Great, I saw your match with Keith Lee, it was over before I could even get comfortable. Seriously, you make things too look easy.

Rhea said with a smile that was infectious as Y/N laughed.

Y/N: Next time, I'll keep that in mind. Longer matches equals more time for you to get comfortable.

Her smile softened, a knowing look in her eyes.

Rhea: Are you okay? I saw what Pearce said.

Her brows furrowed, reflecting the frustration that had been simmering inside him all night. Y/N shook his head not wanting to talk about it, the week prior he told him he was in charge of Retribution, and Pearce didn't take his word for it, after everything he did for Raw to boost the ratings on that show for the last ten months, Pearce didn't take his word. He just didn't have the energy to explain it all again.

Y/N: I'm fine.

He said, his voice trying to convey a conviction he didn't entirely feel.

Rhea: Are you sure? Is there anything I can do to help?
