It took me 2 hours to get ready for my date. I've never been this nervous over a date. But there's just something about him, its like he can see right through me. And that scares the hell out of me.

I decided on a white sleeveless top with black skinny jeans, and nude pumps. After doing my routine make up, I let my hair open, putting a brush through them.

Just as I put my phone in my purse I hear the knock on the door. I take one last look in the mirror and rush outside.

Just as I open my door and step outside into the living room I see Zain in his sweats opening the apartment door. Suddenly it dawns upon me I didn't tell him I had a date.

"What are you doing here?" He asks as soon as Miles comes into sight. He looks really handsome in his leather jacket but I can't help but notice how his handsomeness falls short standing next to Zain who's not even trying. I guess thats what you get when your best friend is the most handsome man alive.

Before he could reply, I do.

"Zain we have a date."

"You what?.. And you're telling me this now?"

"Sorry I forgot to tell you. You know how I am with my demented memory..Anyway we should go. Bye!"

But before I can move outside, Zain blocks my way. He turns towards Miles shooting him a death glare and says

"You better bring her back safe. You try anything on her, one scratch and you're a dead man." He says, his voice so scary it gives me the chills.

"Don't worry about it. But we should leave now Lee, or we'll be late. "

Miles seems relaxed. Not at all tensed by Zain's attitude. This is what scares me about him, he's so calm it gets me wired up.

"Okay," I try heading out but once again Zain blocks my way. This time he turns to face me.

"Where are you going?" His voice forced to be calmer.

"To the movies." I tell him.

"The one near us?"

"Yeah."

"What time will you be back?" I can tell he's trying very hard to keep his voice calm.

"Can I talk to you for a second inside?" I whisper.

"Is it about him?" He says looking towards Miles.

"No"

"Then no. Be back before eleven. And keep your cell phone on at all times," he says sternly.

"Okay."

"And grab a jacket, its cold outside."

"Right" I quickly walk as fast as I can to my room and grab my jeans jacket.

"Got it."

"Bye," he says coldly and moves out of my way.

This is so crazy I think as I walk out with Miles. I remember he used to be protective in highschool too, but it wasn't this bad considering we didn't live together.
