Chapter 29 - WHAT TO DO
I explained everything, leaving out the whole future part that maybe only Elder Rinia knew about, and focused on sole putting in the Alacryans. Arthur and Tessia were in the room when I had woken up after the shock of my own mana exhaustion. It had been an hour or two and just a couple of hours were left before Arthur and I left for Xyrus city.
And judging from Arthur's own confusion towards the topic, they haven't told him about my own power, it was a good thing but not entirely.
There were parts where I had assigned mist magic around both Arthur and Tessia in hopes of them not learning about this early on. I hoped that the decision I was making right then was the correct one, and it was.
Though my mist manipulation wasn't the best like Aya's, it was still decent enough to block words from entering others' ears.
With the most important beings in the whole story being in the same room as me, going exactly as ordered: Elder Virion, King Alduin, Queen Merial, Princess Tessia, Arthur Leywin, Elder Rinia Darcassan, and Lances Aya and Alea.
Not only that but I had to speak formally as well. The King and Queen were here and let us not talk about how they can order lances because of the Oath. Any wrong wording and things could get me either killed or imprisoned for false information.
I had told them about how I thought it was a good idea to end our training session with Aya and Alea in a dungeon. However, everything went wrong. Mana beasts protecting people who aren't from Dicathen. Then after I spoke about Cadell but never once mentioned his name. I tried to keep it under the table about his looks, saying things like I was being choked and barely had any strength to keep my eyes open with how much I had on my plate.
Nevertheless, the question came up.
One I didn't have the will to answer yet.
"So then how did you get us off from the dungeon deep in the Beast Glades?" Aya was the next to ask a question. She had stepped forward from the crowd of important people. Her brows went forward and her hands were balled up into a fist. "That monster or demon, whatever he is, was tied up by Alea's vines and I was a second away from pulling us away but then when I realized it, we weren't nowhere near the Beast Glades but rather on the border of Elshire forest."
All eyes turned to me after being on Aya and Alea when they spoke. The pressure was on me this time, but I didn't think of anything to say. I didn't have anything now in my book, there wasn't a sentence that would get me out of this.
I was tied up in a dilemma
What to do?
I opened my mouth, tried to say a syllable or at least a sound, but nothing came out. I hesitated. Nothing. There was nothing to do.
I had to make something up right now, a thing that might help me here.
"I...don't remember..."
I lied.
In fact I do remember everything that happened. I just couldn't explain it, not right now. No that is not it, even I don't know how to explain it.
About an hour or so passed by, the characters of my favorite novel bombarding me with questions one after another. Some I was able to answer while in others I simply stayed quiet. They didn't deserve to know that there was another continent. Not them at least, perhaps only him...
"Alright everyone! Let's give Luke a rest for an hour, after all he has a long trip to Sapin." Elder Rinia said loudly while clapping her hands three times. As she left almost last, she turned to me and gave me a warm smile before closing the door. Now the only ones in the room were me, Arthur, Tessia, and Grandpa Virion.
