CHAPTER 36 - PREPARATIONS

It's been two weeks since Dinzel started to take in my custom orders. Though it's only like three items, it's quite hard to produce or find the materials.

While Dinzel works on my items for the next step of my list, I train my core in hopes of getting to the next stage before I do my entrance exam in the adventurers guild. Using multiple options in growing my chances of climbing the stages, I now noticed that elixirs only delay your increase in your mana core. The only thing they are good at is growing your mana pool.

Annoying as it may be not being able to ascend into the next stage, it is quite the tool to use while I exert my deviants and elements.

I've gotten the hang of how Lighting, Illusion and Mist work but I am still struggling in manipulating Ice and Gravity. When I use the Ice deviant, it doesn't listen to my every command and instead goes rouge, freezing everything in a ten foot radius. I've even frozen Dinzel's work room without knowing. Yet, Gravity magic tends to stop in a certain amount of time, like a limit that has been placed in it.

At least those are the only problems I have with those two deviants.

Another thing I've learned is how to use external and internal Lighting. I have seen both external and internal use from two characters. Bairon Wykes and Arthur Leywin.

Bairon being the internal method and Arthur being the external method.

Both uses are an incredible thing but it comes with a price.

The external use of lightning uses too much mana to even keep active for long periods of time, consuming more than mist and ice if I were to say. While the internal use of lightning tenses your muscles to a point where you feel your whole body scream in pain for how many tendons are on the verge of snapping.

I experimented on the use of lightning to see how long it would take for the effects to counter my "healthy" body. On the external use of it, the most I could hold onto was six minutes, while the internal method only lasted for one minute.

It wasn't something to be proud of but I certainly was in fact. Each day–if I had time–I would practice on extending the limit.

Nevertheless, no matter how much I have to work hard to achieve even if it's a minute, it is still not enough for me to get through the war. Much less fight a Retainer and stay alive.

"Each day that I get to see you, there is always a chance of you getting injured." Said a voice behind me.

I sat there, facing the opposite side of the owner of the voice, watching the shadow completely shade me from the sun.

A sense of humor entered my mind and left my mouth in the form of a simple chuckle. "You are right, I can't deny that my training may cause me a sense of excitement and fear at the same time. However, may I ask what is the princess of Sapin doing here?"

I turned to the girl who had servants and knights to act as her bodyguard. Of course they all looked confused and some were disgusted at the sight of a commoner boy with black hair and red eyes.

After a couple of minutes, there was a table with two seats in the middle of the area where I was training. On top of the white table was an umbrella to cover both seats entirely. Judging by the look of the Princess and table, it only meant one thing.

Kathyln gestured for me to sit all the while the servants that she brought along took out tea with sweets to go along with the 'tea party'.

I took a gentle and graceful sip of the tea, minding my own manners in front of royalty. "When I meant we could have tea at any time, I didn't think you would track me down and immediately have tea."
