In the wake of Rex's successful battle on Wayland the commander had his primary forces retreated to Teth. This included you on the Havoc Marauder, the Remora, and Golrins ship the Dauntless. There were some other clones that also returned, mainly piloting the surviving fighter ships from Rex's 'Comet fleet', and a few freight ships that were remaining with Rex's forces. The remainder of the ships were returned to Veraxsis, who dispersed them along with the clones they carried quietly throughout his network. You hadn't received any communications from the smuggler professionally but he left a message to you that said; "Eternity knows no peace. Milovaný."

The message had given you some confusion, and Rex informed you that Veraxsis had been making large scale plans within the guild. The battle of Tantis was a launching point for the smugglers' plans just as it was an ending for Rex's. Of course Veraxsis hadn't said anything else besides assuring the rescued clones would be cared for, so that was all the information Rex could give you. In the back of your mind you knew there was more going on then what Veraxsis had shared, but you were too caught up in the current moment to think over your emotions regarding him.

In fact, you were struggling to think through anything at all. Your emotions from the battle at Tantis had felt so intense that even know you were confused by them. You remembered your blood lust, the anger driving you to the edge of what you now knew had been your humanity. You hadn't connected with the force again after healing Tech and blending your life forces together. But in the back of your mind you still felt the darkness, like a shadow outside your view. Its hard to describe, but the shame and guilt you now felt for how you acted was clear, although it could be said you would repeat it, if it meant Tech would live.

The flight to Teth was so surreal it felt like there were only a few long rotations before you arrived. Wrecker had broken his leg and Tech was still unconscious, so you had tried to pick up more work to lighten the load. However, Hunter said that your primary responsibility was caring for Tech and anything that needed repairs he, Omega and Crosshair were capable of handling. Thus, you spent most of your time laying on or against your bunk with Tech. His breathing and heart rates were normal, and you continued to check on his bandages from time to time. The force told you everything was fine, but watching him sleep still made you anxious about when he would wake up. The shadow in the back of your mind feeding your anxiety and gripping you with an unusual tension.

Naturally it was while you were closing in on Teth that you felt him stir. You were laying half-on the bunk edge, slipping in and out of sleep as you napped. Wrecker was napping after being tended to by Omega, and Crosshair was watching you from his seat on a cargo container while leaning back against the wall. Hunter was up front with Omega, intending to let her pilot the Marauder down onto Teth where they would be meeting with Rex's remaining forces.

The day had been peaceful, and as you lay there half awake you felt Tech move and his left hand reached up and rested on your head. At first you didn't move because you froze in surprise, but as you popped up in delight you saw your husband's eyes sleepily open. A smile immediately broke out across your face, and you sat up excitedly.

"Tech!" you exclaimed, and your husband sleepily blinked.

"Affir..mative" he mumbled, slowly moving his neck and then rising up with much difficulty.

As you saw him trying to sit up, you moved to help lift him, and get him settled into a seated position. Tech was still quite sluggish, and rubbed his eyes with his left hand while asking "Status report.. Location..".

You hugged him tightly, and kissed his cheek "We're on route to Teth. The battle was a success."

Tech wrapped his left arm around you as well as the remainder of his right arm. It didn't make it entirely around your body, but you were glad he was still able to hug you.
