Chapter 18 (Shadow's Pov)

Rouge sat down on a rock as I picked up a piece of scrap metal. My conversation with Sally lead to now where. I hated seeing her look so hurt but her own actions. The pain on her face was nothing compared to the hurt that Amy had the day I found her crying under that tree. I was looking for signs of metal Sonic there since Rouge had overheard Sonic and Sally talking about it. I found no trace of the metal faker. What Eggman told me doesn't add up either. Why would Metal Sonic be at my house? I checked the place after being told but there was no sign of any break in.  I carry my chaos emeral on me. I don't think Amy carries one then again I never asked her. I also haven't heard any news of Tails getting attacked but I did warn Sonic since Amy does care about the fox. It would also be bad if a smart person like Tails need up being lost since the is so usual with his gadgets.

"So what's the plan because I am completely lost." Rouge complained as she crossed her arms. I stood up and explained the scrap metal. Just a sheet of metal that was poorly painted. If we don't figure this out then something bad could happen and Amy needs me to be there for her. She is going to try to hold herself together until she can't anymore. I watched her do that over and over again. I can't stand to see her heartbroken like this, not when she has done so much for me over these past years. Not when the ones that caused her pain seem to act like they are hurt by this. When the guilt consumes them isn't even enough.

"I haven't figured it out yet." I mentioned. There has to be something that is missing. A piece of this that I haven't found yet. Could Metal Sonic be after Amy? But why would he attack Sally's place? Did he attack or was he just spotted?  That is a possiablity. Maybe Sally spotted Metal Sonic and called Sonic to help her. Then they lost him, they probably got to talking when they lost track of the bot. Then they ended up cheating on poor Amy. Amy saw was heartbroken, would that serve anything to Metal Sonic? Unlikey in anyway. Sally clearly lied to me about where her chaos emerald is. I know Sally had one and probably still does, I have one, Espio has one, Sonic has one, Rouge keeps one in her house, and that is all I know. I probably would have known if Amy had with with her staying at my place for a bit. I probably should figure out her favorite ice cream flavor next time.

"I'm sure we will get it soon. Besides I have a girl's date with Amy soon." Rouge told me as she stood up. She walked over to the right a bit, probably to look at something shiny. She is having a girl's date with Amy? What does that mean again? I know Amy mentioned that type of thing before, years ago. Maybe it's just a hangout thing? "I plan to talk to her about her relationship with Sonic. Want me to put in a good word for you?" Rouge winked at me.

"Hopefully she realizes that he isn't good for her. Especially after he cheated on her." I muttered in response. I want to help her more. I want to protect her, so she never will feel that kind of pain again. So Amy will always smile the way that she deserves to when she gave so much for everyone else. Sure she has a backbone but she is way too kind. Wait- "What do you mean by put a good word in for me?" 

"I know you always fancied Amy. Maybe if we play our cards right, you will be the next hedgehog that she fancies!" Rouge announced with a mischief smirk. A smirk that is that is never good at all. I stare at Rouge for a moment, what is she even talking about? Did she hit her head?

"What?" I mumbled as I stood there.

"Sonic has cheated on Amy and I plan to be the big sister that gently pushes Amy to making the right choice. Leaving him. Of course Amy will have to move on from Sonic and will have to somewhat heal her trust. Might take a few months or years. But we will be there to support her, and everyone else. Then when Amy is feeling close to her usual self then you could come in and sweep her off her feet!" Rouge continued with an excited tone. Her eyes were filled with determination. "And once she is in the place she will be so delighted we was there, she will probably give me any jewals that she will find." She put her hands together and pressed them affectionately against her cheek like the weird woman that she is. She hit her head. Why do I even work with her?

"What?" I said louder to this bat's weird plan.

"What do you say to that plan for Amy?" Rouge mentioned as she smiled what I can assume to be the most evil grin imaginable. What kind of place of this woman live in? Amy barely finds jewals. When she does they are chaos emeralds.

"Do what you want." I muttered. I could never end up with Amy, I am the Ultimate Lifeform, and she is in love with Sonic. No matter how he has hurt her in the past, she still forgave him. She most likely will forgive him again. Even if he hurt her worst this time. It would be only painful for me to think that she could chose me, even if I am the better choice. 

"Oh I will. But back to what we was talking about, we are clearly missing something, and it doesn't help that Eggman's tracker doesn't work." Rouge complained. I rolled my eyes and then-

"Doesn't help?" I asked and Rouge pulled out a device and showed it to me. 

"Yea! I took it from him. It looks like it is tracking something but that something is at Cream's house. It moved from Angel Island to Cream's house at a steady pace. Nothing that Metal Sonic has shown before." Rouge continued her rant as she pointed to the tracking device. The thing went from Angel Island and is currently at Cream's house. Amy was on Angel Island and probably went to Cream's so she could be with her best friend. Is Eggman tracking Amy?! Why would he need to. 

"I need to see that. How did you get this?" I asked with a raised brow. Last we seen, Eggman had this in his hands then put it in his pocket. 

"I stole it." Rouge said calmly. I stared at it for a good minute.  What could the Doctor gain from tracking Amy. Amy IS Sonic's current girlfriend. Is Eggman after Amy to get back at Sonic? Eggman couldn't have known that Sonic would have cheated on her though. Or did Metal Sonic place his tracker onto Amy? I need to check on Amy. 

"I am borrowing it it for now!" I told her before I ran off. I need to make sure that she is alright.  It wasn't long until I made it outside of Cream's house or when my eyes spotted Amy. There she was, right where the tracker said she was, sitting on the fence while Vector was going on about something. Her kind, green eyes were on him as he spoke. That is why the tracker showed it being at my house because Amy has a tracker on her. I could keep it so I know where she is all the time. Or I could remove it so she will have her time to be alone. "Chaos control." I muttered. 

No matter what, I will do my best to protect her. Everyone was still. I walked over to Amy, I need to find that tracker on her. I scanned her being with my eyes. I couldn't protect Maria but I will protect you and your happiness, Amy. My eyes landed on the tracker that was cleverly hidden in her hair, I grabbed it gently. Even if I may never be the cause of your happiness directly. I crush the tracker in my hand. Even if you are strong enough to protect yourself, I will always be here. I walked back to where I stood, once in place, time continued. 

"That's when I knew I had him!" Vector announced proudly. Amy had an impressed look on her face. Espio rolled his eyes while Charmy and Cream had their own conversation. I need to get back to finding Metal Sonic and I have some questions for the doctor. I start to walk away. If Amy needed me, she would use the device I gave her to notify me.
