"Come on, Y/N!" Yuna laughed as she noticed you falling behind a little.
"I'm coming," You said and tried to pull your skirt down a little, though it didn't do any good and didn't make any difference.
Knowing that you couldn't fall too far behind the girls or the staff members would get on you, you hurried out of the dressing room and followed them down the hall as you prepared to go do an interview together.
It's early in the morning, the sun is just barely starting to rise, but your schedule with the girls doesn't show any sign of slowing down as you embark on the first few days of the new tour.
The first stop is in LA and the first show is tomorrow night.
In the meantime, you and the girls will be busy doing interviews, performances, and a couple of fan meetings to get everyone even more excited about the shows.
You're not complaining about how you only get a couple of hours of sleep each night, that it is so early in the morning now, or that you'll be busy all day; you're just excited to be able to do what you love with your five best friends who are more like sisters now after all these years.
Even though the girls were feeling the excitement as well, Yeji wasn't able to smile at all right now.
She was very unhappy.
Not with you or the other girls but with how the stylists chose to have you dress today.
You're in a cute t-shirt and probably should've been given a pair of jeans or a cute pair of shorts to wear with it but instead, you were given a skirt and one that was extremely short at that.
It barely went down your thighs much at all and if you sat the wrong way or were to bend over to reach for anything, your underwear would be seen.
She knows that the six of you tend to face a lot of scrutiny already over every little thing, most of the time for no reason at all, and she worried that people might either send you hate or leave very strange comments about your outfit.
Yeji has always been very protective of you, all of the girls have, but it's just instinctive for them since you're the maknae of the group.
Even though you're only a year younger than Yuna and you are an adult, the girls still feel very protective of you.
Seeing you wearing such a short skirt and knowing that it wasn't even one you picked out yourself, she felt concerned.
She waved one of the staff members over and quietly told them to grab a blanket for you, which they did.
"Here, Y/N," She told you before handing the fluffy grey-striped blanket to you.
You unfolded it and with her help, you covered up with it.
"Is that better?"
You felt relieved to know that people wouldn't be able to give you weird looks or make strange comments later on about you and, most importantly, you didn't have to worry about what'll happen when you move around in the chair.
"So much better. Thank you."
She just sent you a sweet smile and fixed the blanket a little more before glaring over at the staff members who had picked your outfit out.
She wanted to make sure they knew how unhappy she was with you being given such a short and revealing skirt.
Surely they had to know that it would bring negativity towards you and, even more so, it would make too many eyes wander.
She was about to say to them that they should see if they can get you back to the dressing room real quick to help you change into something else before the interview starts.
But she couldn't help but notice that some of the crew for the interview had been staring at you.
They looked almost disappointed that you were completely covered now and she made a mental note to make sure she and the girls helped you out of the seat when the interview ended.
"Fix it a little more." She told you while glaring at the weird guys across the room, noticing that your right thigh was showing just a little bit as the edge of the blanket moved.
You followed her gaze and saw them too and quickly did what she encouraged you to do.
Lowering your head, a heavy breath fell from your lips.
You love what you do more than anything in the world.
It's your dream come true and you've given so much to be able to be where you are now but it comes with its downsides and one of those things is seeing how some people look at you.
"Hey," Yeji whispered as she noticed you were getting a little lost in your thoughts. "It's okay. Trust me, if I couldn't have covered you up, I would've been saying some things to these people. But you're okay now, no one's going to look at you uncomfortably anymore."
You leaned over and put your head on her shoulder.
"You are the best leader in the entire world."
She chuckled and gave you a quick but sweet squeeze.
She's always been the best leader you could've ever imagined and she's always looked out for you, just like she's always looked out for the other girls too.
She's never afraid to stand up for you and if anyone ever made you feel uncomfortable, she was quick to tell them to stop.
You feel incredibly lucky to have her there to look out for you and always be here for you.
The interviewer took his seat a moment later and it started not long after.
"ITZY, it's so good to meet you. We're so happy to have you here! We know it's very early. Thank you for coming."
"Thank you for having us." Ryujin politely spoke.
As the questions began to be answered, Yeji kept looking over at you to make sure that you stayed covered up and no one could catch a glimpse of your short skirt.
And she kept occasionally glaring at those who would look at you strangely, her protective side never once fading.
Not even when the interview ended a little while later and you had to head back to the dressing room to get your things and head to the next one.
Instead, she helped you every step of the way.
"We hope to see you again soon!"
"Us too, thank you." Chaeryeong grinned.
The cameras cut, the interview finished, and you went to stand up, only to remember that a lot of eyes were on you and your skirt was bound to show.
And since you'd shifted around in the seat during the interview a little, you worried it had raised up and would reveal even more than what it did before.
"Here, I've got you," Yeji said as she grabbed the blanket and held it in front of you.
You got up and she wrapped it around your waist.
"I can't believe they gave her a skirt that short." Lia scowled.
She and Ryujin walked in front of you while Yuna and Chaeryeong walked behind you.
Yeji, however, walked right beside you as she kept the blanket wrapped around you.
"Oh, trust me. It's never going to happen again. I'll talk to the staff members if I have to, she's wearing something else to the next interview." Yeji told the girls.
They agreed, of course, but still shook their heads with smiles on their faces because they too admired her protectiveness, especially towards you.
"Thank you, Yeji,"
Your words caught her attention once more.
"I don't know what I'd ever do without you. Thank you for helping me and for getting me this blanket."
"Anytime." She promised.
You were so lucky to have the five best friends in the entire world by your side to live out your dreams with every single day and you felt extremely lucky to know that one of them in particular would always look out for you, no matter the cost.
