I'm tired

"It's just fanifc or doesn't change the canon"

But out of all the things to write a fanfic about, you're shipping an aspec character, and yes aroaces aros and aces can still date but you have to ask yourself of that character would and does fit that part of the spectrum and if they do, how will their relationship look different from allo ones?

And there's literally so many characters, so many things, to write fanfic about. Not all fanfics have to have romance. Most of mine don't and the ones that do have it bc I didn't know I was aromantic and I still had an amatonormativie mind set of "romance being more" or whatever.

But even then my fanfics have all been plot based.

So yes, fanfic is just fanfic and it doesn't change the canon. But that's not the point.

The point is, out of all the things you chose to write about, it's romantizing and sexualizing asepc characters.

You can't claim to love the character if you're gonna change big aspects of their identity because they don't fit your amatonormative mindset.

I don't know why I care so much. Like why can't I just forget it or let it go.

"Fanfics are always gonna ship that's just what they do" by why is everything romance centered😭
