The room was eerily quiet, as if it was the silence before a storm. Murtasim went silent as he was debating in mind weather he should tell her the reason or not. Meerab remained silent to give him time to express himself. Her body was being heated by the rage burning in her heart, and the room felt warm. She could feel the strings of her patience slowly fraying. Her hair flew up whenever the cold breeze from the window hit her face, which was the only thing keeping her calm. When she was about to burst out, he spoke.
"From childhood, I have always considered you a spoilt child, and accepting you seemed impossible. We fought, yelled, and disliked each other, but I never hated you, Meerab. Our marriage was against our will, but we can at least try once, right? I may not be the ideal life partner for you, but I will do my best to keep you happy. Sorry for ignoring you all these months; I thought you ruined my life, but now I realize I was mistaken. And I sincerely apologize for that," Murtasim said, looking at her apologetically, feeling guilty for not even inquiring about her wish and choice.
His reply fueled her anger as she was not expecting this as an answer. Instead of an apology, she wants to know why he changed his mind and why he have mood swings . Her eyes were blazing with rage and irritation. What does he think about himself? Is he a Prime Minister or what? Does he see marriage as a game in which he plays when he is in the mood to play and leaves when he is bored without telling anyone? First, he talks shit about her and expects her to accept everything. How?
"I don't understand why you want me to give you a chance. I don't want your apology , or your assurance that you will be the best partner. I will decide that but first tell me the reason of your flipping emotions. Murtasim, I am not a child who can be bribed by talking sweetly and complimenting him. Keep these things to yourself," Meerab yelled, greeting her teeth angrily and staring at him fiercely, as she did not want any excuse or lie. She clenched her fists and growled angrily as Murtasim looked at the ground and remained silent for another minute.
With passing seconds, her anger was increasing and that was evident my looking at her red face.
"Earlier, I believed I was ruining your life and putting you in a cage. So it was a path to redemption. When I arrived last week, I... I saw a man saddened because he had lost his wife to a heart attack. They had a forced marriage, just like us, but the situation was different, and he ignored her for two months because he was not interested in marriage, whereas she was doing her best.
I felt as if I was doing the same thing, so I suggested we try it once. I simply cannot bear the thought of losing you or seeing you suffer. That day, I was afraid of losing you, your smile, and your presence. I have known you since I was a child, and I can not imagine life without you. Never. ," Murtasim explained himself by looking at her eyes.
His body shivered as he remembered the state of the man who was regretting and whose family was blaming him rather than supporting him. He wondered if he was doing the same thing because Meerab lives with his family more than he does and he is ignoring her. At that point, he made the decision to speak with her and accept her because he could not bear to see her go.
Since those parents claimed that the girl was depressed, he finds it impossible to imagine Meerab falling into hell. Never, never, not today, not tomorrow
"Now answer my question. Do you want to save this relationship? Because I really do not want to see you suffer. Although I have tried to irritate you since childhood, I never meant to hurt you. Tum hum sabki ladli Meerab ho. I could never let you go through hell. So tell me, do you accept me?," Murtasim asked. Meerab pressed her lips together in a thin line to think of an answer, and then she turned to face him.
