"Cmon Y/n!" Powder called to Y/n, who was following desperately behind Powder.

"Where are we going Pow?" The h/c girl called out to the younger kid.

Nimble and lighter in her feet, Powder slid through the crowd, causing a stressed groan to escape Y/ns lips as she barely managed to keep up with the blue-haired girl.

The two found their way through the undercity's winding alleyways as they began to reach a more secluded area.

"Pow, let's go back. We shouldn't be out too long. We need to get back to 'The Last Drop'." She pleaded with her, only to follow her to a large building with looming glass windows and a ceiling that was cracked and uncatered for.

Powder ignored Y/n's calls to retreat to their home, only to scale the dirty walls of the exterior of the building.

Y/n was confused at her resilience, typically, Powder would fight for alone time with Y/n, only Y/n finally saw what was only now becoming obvious. Powder was following her siblings' trail and footprints. The shoeprints that had been left on the walls were only fresh.

"Wait, Powder!" Y/n sprinted to catch up with Powder, who was already looking in the window and unzipping her bag.

Y/n grabbed Powder's hands, "We aren't meant to be here" She was cut off by what the two young girls could only identify as Vander's yell. The two kids looked through the window to see Vi with Vanders' gloves strapped securely to her fists as the pink-haired girl approached a large tattooed brute that Y/n could only describe as almost twice her height.

Fear shot through Y/ns Nerves. She couldn't move as she watched Vi initiate a fight that Y/n wasn't expecting her to win.

Vi threw a deadly uppercut,t sending the brute backwards.

As soon as the first punch was thrown, Y/n jumped to her feet. "Powder, I have to help your sister. Stay here and don't do a thing!" Powder grabbed Y/ns arm, not wanting to be left alone. "I have an idea..."

Y/n hesitated, glancing back through the cracked glass to Vi, who was trading blow after blow with the brute. Time was running thin. "Powder, this isn't the time-!"

"Trust me!" Powder hissed, already digging into her bag. With a flick of her wrist, she pulled out a small, wind-up monkey. She pulled out one of the small blue orbs they had obtained.

Y/n's heart lurched as she watched a beastly looking man snatch Vi by the neck. "Powder, they need our help, this may not work!"

"You won't be able to stop what is going to happen down there, but this might!"

Before Y/n could object, it was too late. Y/n looked at her own blue orb she had kept in a small leather pouch on her belt, letting the bag rest at her hip.

Powder crossed her fingers, biting her lip and praying that this time it could work.

The tiny monkey whirred to life, its cymbals clashing together with a metallic clanging of its wind-up feet motioning it forward, as it teetered on the window's ledge. The small blue orb attached to its belly began to glow ominously.

With a sputter and a pop, the monkey lurched forward and tumbled through the cracked window frame, disappearing into the chaos below.

The two girls sat there, and a few seconds passed. Vi had retreated to a room where the two girls could no longer see them.

A few more seconds passed, and nothing had happened.

Powder dropped her crossed fingers and her shoulders slumped in defeat. "I'm sorry, Powder, I really wanted that to work for you" Y/n didn't get the opportunity to continue what she was saying because she was being thrown back by the force of a blue explosion.
