"You should just go and sleep. I'll handle everything. I already asked Hajun to drop some food from the restaurant." Jungkook says as he unlocks the door.
"It's probably just vitamin d deficiency. I never get time to be out in the sun." Rae complains.
"You gotta start drinking milk again." Jungkook suggests.
"No... it reminds me of pregnancy. And it wasn't the most fun times of my life you know," Rae tells him as they remove the shoes near the entrance.
"Weren't you saying a couple days back I miss it so much Jungkook. It was so nice carrying my sweet boys inside me. I wish I could experience it again." Jungkook does an impression of her but she doesn't laughs. She rolls her eyes at him.
Bam awaits them resting near the entrance. He quickly stands up and barks then keeps sniffing around Rae. He follows her to the living room.
"Bamie. Mama needs to go wash herself." He keeps barking near her while she sits on the couch removing her socks.
She throws his toy across the room thinking he'll go catch it but he doesn't he goes behind her wherever she goes. When she goes to the bathroom he stands guard near the door.
"What happened Bam? Come here. My sweet boy." Rae caresses him while he stands beside her. She kisses his head. Scratches where he likes it. He keeps sniffing her.
When she lies down on the bed, he sits beside the bed silently. When Jungkook comes inside the room to check if Rae is sleeping or overthinking again he pushes him away until he doesn't goes downstairs.
Rae thinks about how her body always finds ways of troubling her. She got diagnosed with pcos when she was 19. She always had to stay tensed about her medications. She was always on hormone regulatory medication. She remembers the hell that came with pcos. She used to have 10 day long periods with bleeding so heavy she had to change her pads every hour. She gained so much weight, got hair on her face, it fucked with her mental health too.
And then pregnancy wreaked another havoc on her body. Only she knows what she endured while carrying twins. She had to take all sorts of medications to sustain the pregnancy and take daily shots.
Even after she gave birth, the hematoma surgery gave her so much trauma. For a while she felt at peace. When she stopped breastfeeding and got her period back everything was so normal like it hadn't been in years. Her cycle didn't vary too much, the bleeding wasn't too light or too heavy. It was such a relief to get her natural rhythm back that she didn't go back on hormonal birth control. She knew it would fuck it all up again. And thinking of her amh count before she even conceived the twins she thought it was impossible for her to conceive again.
They sticked to condoms and it was a justified bargain for her health. Although they did take some calculated risks.
Jungkook cleans the house, folds laundry, waters the plants, catch up on work for the restaurant and then goes to pick up the twins from daycare after picking up Seol from the bus stop.
He comes in with the three of them, the twins in his arms with Seol walking beside him. The twins keep babbling and tug at his hair while Seol tells him everything about her day at school.
"Where's Bam, daddy?" Seol asks looking around for Bam as he mostly waits for them near the door.
"Why did we not go to kohinoor today?" She asks again when she realises.
"Because me and mummy are both at home today. Mummy's not feeling well. So I need you guys to not disturb her. Okay?" Jungkook tries to make them understand. Seol nods and goes to search for Bam. The twins give him a mischievous grin.
