The Real Boss Fight part 1: Friendship

Mewtwo snarled, dusting the glowing remnants of Alex's aura shield off its arm as the Riolu leapt back into battle with a defiant growl.

"Back for more, are we?" Mewtwo sneered, the spoon spinning idly in its hand like a baton. "You're either brave, deluded, or just suicidal-possibly all three."

Alex didn't respond with words.
He launched forward, paws crackling with aura energy, his steps light but swift. Mew's training echoed in his every movement-his aura flowed smoother now, his eyes glinting with fierce clarity. This time... he was holding his own.

The cave shook as he clashed with Mewtwo mid-air, slamming an Aura-boosted Force Palm against the psychic's spoon. The impact rang out like metal on metal, the sheer pressure splitting nearby stones.

Alex ducked under a swift horizontal swing from the spoon and retaliated with an Aura Blast to Mewtwo's side-direct hit.

Mewtwo reeled slightly before teleporting, appearing behind Alex with its palm glowing a sickly purple. "Cleverer than before, aren't we? Pity it won't matter."

Alex twisted, just in time to throw up a shimmering aura shield-the Psyshock shattered across it like a wave hitting glass. He followed up with an aura-charged Shadow Claw, slicing through the mist of psychic residue. Mewtwo blinked back-its form flickering-before slamming down with its spoon, but Alex redirected the blow with a glowing palm and slid under its legs.

"STOP egging it on, ya lunatic!" Arlo shouted from the sidelines. "You think just because you landed a few hits you can take that thing?!"

"You are still here?!" Alex shot back between panting breaths. "LEAVE!"

Mewtwo's smirk twisted.

"How sweet. Protecting your little mates while getting absolutely WRECKED."

Suddenly, Arlo's eyes lit up. He dug frantically into his bag. "Oh! Wait-Felix!"

He yanked out a Tiny Reviver Seed, and hurled it at Felix's head like a fastball.
It bounced once-then dissolved into golden sparkles as it touched him.

Felix jolted upright with a gasp.
"-MUM'S BISCUITS-WOT JUST-" He blinked, saw Mewtwo, and immediately screamed.

"ALEX! STOP POKING THE PSYCHIC EMBYRO!"

Alex rolled his eyes, deflecting a barrage of Psybeams with his forearms now pulsing with glowing aura threads.

"CAN'T! LITTLE BUSY NOT LOSING!"

Mewtwo huffed in irritation, tail flicking.

"I should've confiscated your little knickknacks and seeds. Blasted insects and their game mechanics."

With a grunt, it swatted Alex down with its spoon mid-spin, sending him bouncing across the floor like a ragdoll. Alex groaned, but before Arlo and Felix could rush over-

Mewtwo was already striding toward them.

"Now then. Shall we wrap this up? I promise it'll be quick-well, relatively."

Alex's eyes snapped open, still groggy but his aura burning.

He vanished from the ground in a blue blur-and reappeared right behind Mewtwo's back.

He'd bypassed the psychic barrier Mewtwo always maintained like a second skin by going under. The energy cracked as Alex plunged a fierce Aura-empowered Shadow Claw into the base of Mewtwo's spine.

"GHRAAAAAGH!" Mewtwo bellowed in fury, eyes glowing with incandescent rage.

It turned instantly, its long, muscled tail coiling around Alex's arm like an Ekans.
