Chapter 10: Cryptids and Insectars: Annoying Races

Rimuru POV

Upon hearing about creatures trying to destroy Ivarage's seal from the inside, I immediately teleported to the seal's location. It seems that Lord Veldanava had created several gates to the seal for the angels to enter through.

These gates apparently connected to the Demon Realm. I then entered the world seal and saw this new race fighting the angels including Feldway, Zalario, Obera, and Cornu. Seeing them, I then launched a torrent of Chaos energy, wiping several creatures from existence and causing everyone to notice me.

The Primordial Angels then approached me with smiles on their faces. They seemed to be having difficulty in dealing with these creatures. Looking over at Ivarage, I saw that she was in a deep slumber. Upon analyzing her, it seems that the seal I put on her has also affected her consciousness.

Since I never used World of Heimdall before, this effect was pretty new to me. However, since Ivarage was the real target of the seal, these creatures were unaffected by this effect.

Rimuru: "Who are these creatures?" I asked them as I unleashed another rush of Chaos energy at the approaching creatures, sending them further back and wiping some of them from existence.

Feldway: "They are apparently called cryptids. They rose from Ivarage's magicules and they share her egoless nature as well." He revealed as he looked at the cryptids, which seemed to be never-ending.

Upon analyzing them, I could tell that they shared very similar features to Ivarage. It was as if they were her offspring, yet I wouldn't classify them as such.

Rimuru: "Right. So we have to annihilate them all?"

Zalario: "Indeed, but the problem is that they are constantly forming from the dragon's magicules so we can't seem to put an end to them." He revealed—such a pain.

The only way we can end them all is to kill Ivarage, the source of them all. However, since my lord wants her to live, that idea is a no-go.

Rimuru: "I'll go and speak to Lord Veldanava about this. Meanwhile, fight them off." I told them before teleporting to the Heavenly Star Palace.

I then approached my lord's chamber and knocked on his door. After receiving permission, I entered the room and bowed in front of him. He seemed slightly troubled, most probably due to the cryptids.

Veldanava: "I assume that you came to me to talk about the cryptid race, correct?" He asked, to which I nodded.

Rimuru: "Indeed, my Lord. The only way to end them is to kill Ivarage, although I suppose that you don't wish that, correct?" I asked, to which he nodded. He then approached me and gestured for me to rise, which I did.

Veldanava: "I have tasked Feldway, Obera, Zalario, and Cornu to prevent the cryptids from entering the Material World. It's something that they shall do forever. It is their permanent duty." He revealed, his eyes distant and aloof.

Veldanava: "Although I have faith in that race to gain an ego, it is still important to not let them enter the Material World as they could cause great destruction if let them be." He continued before turning his eyes to me.

Veldanava: "I have tasked the remaining Primordial Demons inside the Demon Realm to guard the Gates to Ivarage's seal and prevent the cryptids from escaping. I want you to task Diablo to guard one of the gates as well." He revealed, his divine gaze focused deeply on me.

Rimuru: "Very well, my lord. It shall be done." I replied in kind, affirming his decision. Since Diablo's strength is quite vast that even Feldway would have difficulty fighting him, he will have no issue dealing with the cryptids. In fact, if Feldway and Diablo work together, they might even be able to defeat Ivarage as well.
